Nervous to make the leap to travel nursing

Hi everyone.

I'm sure this has been asked before, so please bear with me. I currently work FT in O.R. I have been in the same place 16 years. Its a small ,rural hospital which is fine with me. My husband and I would like to travel. I have been researching travel nursing but I have to admit after reading reviews on several companies I'm nervous about picking the right one. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Forget about reviews and agency names and start calling them! The variable that is by far most important to your success as a traveler is your relationship and communication with recruiters. The agency brand is far down on the list of importance.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Call lots of agencies and pick the best three to five recruiters to work further with. Avoid giving out your contact information until you have picked your recruiting team.

Yep I have 7 recruiters most of which I communicate with through FB. If that isn't your cup of tea you can use phone but do not fill out an application with skills checklist until you have decided which ones you want to work with and which have the jobs you want.
