Need Serious help from people who attended school in the Cleveland/Akron OH area!!!!!

U.S.A. Ohio

Hey my fellow and future nurses! I have a huge delima! I am a transfer student who transferred from georgia state university to Cleveland state university. I transferred there because my spouse is from Cleveland and he works out there, so me and my son packed up and headed to Cleveland. Now before I left for CSU I switched my major from pre-nursing to sociology because I have already been in school so long and switched so many majors but I knew nursing was it for me. Me and my advisor looked at everything and decided I should switch to sociology major so I can take my nursing pre req. through all the elective classes that come with majoring in sociology and graduate in a 1 1/2-2. And then attend University of Akron accelerated nursing program soon after. It is a great plan and I was all for it, graduate sooner, get my rnbsn faster and end up with two degrees! Sound great right!? Well the problem is after that meeting I quickly found out we were heading for Cleveland. I applied to Cleveland State just in case of a sudden move but I didn't expect it this quickly. I informed Cleveland state of my change in major but when I looked at the catalog they seem to not have as much free electives like the sociology program at Georgia State. What should I do? I need a major with plenty free elective room so I can use it for my pre reqs into University of Akron accelerated nursing program. Any Cleveland state/ university of Akron people who can help me out? Anybody in Ohio period who can help me out!? Lol

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PACU.

Why not just stay in the RN tract? This seems to be a round about way. CSU has an excellent nursing program.

Hi Whykai,

I work at The University of Akron. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] and we can discuss your options at UA. I look forward to hearing from you.
