Hello guys! I am a nurse here in the Philippines. I have already completed my CGFNS and IELTS and is now currently on my review for California NCLEX while processing for my VISA Screen Certificate. Can you recommend nursing agencies here in the Philippines that can help me be emplyed abroad? thank you very much.

Sorry, but you are much better doing things on your own. Right now, many of the agencies over there do not have a good track record. I suggest that you do a review of some of the postings that are already here.

hi suzanne4......you dont recommend tying up with an agency but what would be an option for people who has passed the NCLEX NY and IELTS already but still in their home country? direct hiring?

I am also looking for agencies in the Phils for my sister. She is graduating in March 2006 and would like to come over here in Florida to work.
Suzanne, now that you mentioned that it is better for nurses to do the processing themselves, where can we get information on processing, procedures, etc? I have really no clue how to get her here.
Thanks :)
Direct hiring is always the best way to go if you are able to afford to pay for the exams yourself. That would be the only reason that I could give to go with an agency otherwise. That wat you are in complete control. There are very few agencies that will even let you pick a state, and I am very against that.
There are several stickies at the top of the page. Follow that information for getting the exams done, as well as Visa Screen Certificate, then you will have everything done but immigration which the hospital will take care of for you.
thanks a lot Suzanne :)

Hi! It's me. Sorry if I am asking you questions on a lot of the threads. I am trying to read as much of them as I can. It's good information, thanks to you!
I thought that hospitals are getting agencies to recruit for them because of the hassles of looking for nurses and of course processing their applications and visas. That was my impression. I actually applied to a hospital and I got an email from their recruiting firm who passed me to their agency here in the Philippines. I hope you can enlighten me on this.
Thanks a lot! and God Bless!
All I can say is check out the agency, before signing anything. Some facilities have signed contracts with agencies to handle their recruiting, but most have not, especially in the Philippines. Once you sign with the agency there, then they will try and get you placed. Not a good idea. There have been several nurses here that had their immigration documents cancelled well into the process because the agency did not come up with anything for them.
All I can say is be very careful, if you can afford to do it on your own, that is the way to go. Just read some of the past posts here. :wink2:
