How long was your hospital stay? 4 days

Describe your prenatal care? First visit was around 6 weeks, had appointments once each month up until around 28 weeks where my appointments were then every 3 weeks. In the final month my visits were every week. Blood work was done on first visit, each visit after that a urine sample was given and vitals along with weights were recorded. Four ultrasounds were performed throughout my pregnancy.

Who was the primary care giver once the child arrived? The registered nurses on the maternity floor provided the majority of my care after delivery.

What were the hospital’s procedures ( was dad allowed in the birthing room, ect.)? My family was allowed in the room before and after my scheduled c-section. During delivery my husband was in the room while the c-section was performed. These decisions were left up to me. There were no specifications made by the staff at the hospital.

Describe the birth/delivery process? Delivered by scheduled c-section. The nurses prepared me for c-section (IV's etc.) Then I was taken to the OR on the maternity floor where I delivered. Procedure was performed by the doctor who provided my prenatal care and was assisted by another doctor. After delivery I was taken back to my hospital room where I was monitored by the nurses and doctors.

Explain any pain medication use/procedures. A spinal block was given before the procedure. Throughout my stay after delivery, and upon leaving the hospital, pain medication was given.

What information did you have in advance of your trip to deliver you child (classes, books,

ect)? I attended prenatal classes, was given many pamphlets and books to read.

What preparations did you make for the child (baby nursery, purchasing items, ect.)? Purchased a crib, bassinett, corificeat, diapers, bottles, clothes, blankets. Any item that I felt would be essential was purchased before the birth.

Did you and the father of the child have discussions and make plans for the child? Pregnancy was unplanned.

What was the cost of birth/delivery of your child? At the time of pregnancy I did not have health insurance, costs were covered by medicaid.

I hope my answers are what you are needing. HTH!

Thanks a lot this does help Thank again.
