I am a 17 year old boy living at a small boarding school in New Hampshire. I was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder four or five years and have been taking lithium carbonate for several years. I am also on Risperdal and very little synthroid for my thyroid. My question is : I have been habitually smoking marijuana two or three times a day and quite a few ciggarettes daily. Every time I smoke pot with a group of people I have a very different "high" than everyone else. While every one seems calm and relaxed I usually feel completely different. I usually am lagitamately funny and my voice changes completely. I also get major Deja Vu every Time I smoke...
Anyway I was am very interested on any and all information on smoking marijuana with a cocktail of meds and Bi-polar disorder. I have heard of heard of psychosis. Does that mean I will stay psychotic for life or just while I smoke. I am desperate for information about this subject so please take this seriously. Thank You

We do take questions seriously but it's against our TOS to give any kind of answers like this or medical advice. You need to talk with either your physician or call a recovery center.

I dont think there is enough adequate research on the subject. There has been some research that indicates marijuana may bring on or exacerbate psychosis but the research is not without major faults.
Your thread will probably be closed and you should make an appointment with your family doctor and discuss your concerns.
