Need info getting a job in anywhere English speaking countries other than US.

Hi,

I am officially unemployed since OPT expired yesterday. I had been a new grad RN in NEW YORK for 9 months.

I am accepted to master's program in nursing, however, since my hospital will not pay for tuition, I am thinking going somewhere and get more experience until the door opens in this country.

I have been contacting via email to Nursing Organizations in Caribbean islands and CANADA.

NO response yet.

I also want to know how i can get a job in Dubai.

I am US-trained RN from Japan. I have BSN. I was not a nurse in my country.

If anybody can help me, i will appreciate

Thank you in advance.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Depends where you want to go, There are many threads in this forum so suggest searching using country of choice as key word. Process will also take sometime and for some Country may have to take their exam. For Canada you have to do the CRNE and it is only done 3 times a year in Canada. How are you staying in the US legally now your OPT has finished?

I have been searching in this website, but i didn't get solid data.

That is why i started this thread. Since my opt expired yesterday, i have 60 days window period to decide whether i am going back to school or leaving this country. Did you know that?

I think you will find it will take more than 60 days to sort out something for another country. May need to consider staying as a student. I did wonder if you was in the 60 day window which is why I asked.

yeah, i am in 60day window. Thinking about going back to school, i can only afford one semester.

Going back home without money in december or going back now with some money. I think the later is better.

I want to have experience because people only see digits to see how much experience i have as a nurse. i am very flexible, and can adjust to the new culture. i just need some solid data. Pay does not so matter as long as i can live and get experience.

It is not so fair. I like being a nurse. i want to improve my nursing skills.

I was a good student in school, i studied hard. and, now i have this problem. Ok, i stop complaining.

I don't know but it is so hard to get info getting nursing job in caribbean island.

Any job in another country is going to require licensure there, and have never seen one of them getting someone thru the process in just a matter of weeks. Then immigration process to follow before you can begin work or even go there.

Without having the green card, or permission to work in the US, then the islands for the most part will not work for you as well.

60 days is a very small window to get things done in.

Specializes in CTICU.

What about Australia? Don't think that takes too long for US-trained staff. It's also close to Japan in case you wanted to visit home.
