I don't have much information for you but I do have a close friend who went to school there. They have nothing but positive things to say about their education at Central. They graduated 2 years ago and immediately started in acute care.
thanks for your reply. thinking i'm going to apply there next week to start in march and was trying to get as much info about the school from former students as possible. trying to find out about accredidation and so on.

That was actually one of my choices for school, the school has been around for while, nurses had positive things to say....I did opt for tri-c so I could do a transition to RN program though.

Central has one of the best reputations for Practical Nursing in the area. They also have a high rate of students passing the NCLEX. At tri-c you have to actually work as an LPN for one year before you can apply for the Bridge to RN class. I wanted to do that but the person I spoke with recommended that I just go for RN from the start. I was able to retire from my job. Ive been accepted and will start August 2010. My daughter starts at Central in March of 2010. She has two small children. This is my second career and we are both very excited.

Central is a good school-but here are a few things to consider. The school classes you take at Central do not-repeat do not transfer or go toward an RN education (whether it be a bridge, asn or bsn). The program is very fast paced (there is not a lot of why behind the education-because it is so fast), if you are looking for the theory behind nursing then an RN program or an associate degree as an LPN may be better. The program is good, but if you intend on going for your RN-please keep this in mind, most of the bridge programs in NE Ohio require you work as an LPN for a year and as I said your year of classes and time at Central do not count toward the pre-req's or core courses you need to become an RN. If you do choose Central, get the book list and buy the books on your own off the internet-you will save big time!
