Hello,
I have a .8 hospital job. I would like to work more/pick up, but additional shifts are not always available.
I would like to get an on-call job of some kind. One thing I am worried about is training, and that it may conflict with my present schedule, any ideas?
How have any of you worked out on-call or additional jobs?
Thanks

I presently have 3 jobs. I have 2 full-time jobs, and one PRN gig.
My 'real job' is Monday through Friday, from 6am to 2pm, at a local nursing home. My second job involves working two 12 hour shifts on the weekend at another local facility. I work 24 hours per week at this second job, but receive pay and benefits for 32 hours under the Baylor plan. My third job entails being a PRN floor nurse at a severely understaffed facility. I basically pick the days and shifts that I'd like to work, and they are usually available.

Since I work 6am to 2pm Monday through Friday, I'll usually pick up evening shifts (2 to 10pm) at the 3rd PRN job. Essentially, I'm doing double shifts by working during the day at my 'real' job, then working evenings at the PRN place.
Lord have mercy!! Do you sleep?!!??

how are you being paid when you work extra shifts as prn? are you being paid hourly wage of contingent nurse? i've posted a thread not long ago asking if its possible to work full time and work contingent at the same facility and i guess it is possible.
i'm really frustrated with myself too. i have two jobs, i work 7 days a week, but the total amount of two checks combined are about $1200 per week. with gas price went up to $4 per gallon i need a third job. i've been trying to figure out how i can manage 3 jobs without burning myself up. i need one job where it is light work and when i go to my second job, i'm not being burned out. i want to earn about $2100 per week. any ideas?
