Hey,
I am a nursing student in Canada.. I am not sure if this forum has Canadian nurses who can help me out.
I need direction for where I can find information regarding an RN's role in reporting and/or documenting cases of spousal about.
Any help would be great,
THANKS :)

The Canadian Nurses' Association has revised the Code of Ethics For Registered Nurses in 2008. You can download the entire code here:
http://www.cna-nurses.ca/CNA/documents/pdf/publications/Code_of_Ethics_2008_e.pdf
Guidelines for interpreting the code can be found here:

The College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta and the Canadian Nurses' Association have a joint statement regarding family violence that can be found here:
https://www.nurses.ab.ca/Carna-Admin/Uploads/joint_stmnt_family_violence_web.pdf.
While this is specific to Alberta, I expect that the other provinces will have similar approaches. Hope this helps.

Is the focus of your paper specifically the nurse's role in reporting and documenting domestic abuse? Or is examining the issues of domestic violence and nursing ethics?
