Need help/advice! NCLEX RN and PN

Published

Ok this is the case.

I've been studying for 3 weeks now for NCLEX RN(My 2nd time taking it) and my test is scheduled on the 25th of October. I'm using Kaplan On Demand and so far, my scores are 45%-55%(few 60's) on both QT and Qbank. I feel like this scores are not enough to pass the NCLEX so I'm planning on rescheduling the test on the last week of November.

Right now, I'm currently working as an LPN in a nursing home using a limited permit. My permit is about to expire on the 2nd week of November. The original plan was to have my license for RN before the permit expires but its not gonna happen now.

Losing my permit means losing my job.

So... this is where i need your help/advice.

Should i try taking NCLEX PN first before i take my RN? so atleast if I pass i can keep my job. How's the NCLEX PN compare to RN? Is it similar? some people said its almost the same. They said, they are both difficult. Is there a chance for me to pass the nclex PN? I really dont know what to do right now... give me some advice guys.

THANKS IN ADVANCE! :crying2:

The PN exam is only offered if you have completed a PN program. So the first question is did you get a certificate for PN?

The NCLEX-PN is not much different than the NCLEX for the RN. It is hard.

You should change your thought process and not expect that you are going to fail but that your actually going to pass despite what the practice test reflect. How about reviewing test taking strategies and do a test by applying the strategies to the practice test.

You will pass the NCLEX RN, just stay persistant and positive.
