I am a new grad LVN & got offered a job working nights 7p-7a med surg floor that pays 16.40 w/the night differential included. Is this good, I'm not too sure since I am new. What do you guys think?

A college in SoCal where I have contacts and which offers LVN and ADN programs is required to keep records of the pay rates offered/accepted by its new grads. From this information it seems as if your offer is at the high end of LVN new grad rates which are collected at base pay rate level. As this is a position with night differential pay, it seems about right.

I hope this helps you, but please don't take a nursing position on pay alone. Are there other factors which are meaningful to you and which might help you make up your mind?

Actually, I had one of my best rotations there at that hospital. That is why I was happy to hear from them. It is also about 15 minutes away & is close to my school for the ADN program. I also really liked what I saw in terms of teamwork & work environment. I just didn't know too much about the pay scale, if it was good or too low. Thanks for the info & advice.
