Hi, I'm trying to study for the NCLEX, but so far it's been mostly frustration. I feel like I don't know nearly as much as I should and I'm not even getting 75% on all my tests. I keep jumping around from subject to subject, even though I have a schedule to follow. Is this overwhelming feeling normal? And most importantly does it pass? (I just started studying this week.)

I think most people go through what you have described. There are several ways to prepare. You have to find what works for you. I used a Saunders review book which came with a CD. The CD would allow you to test yourself randomly or by specific subjects. It also allowed you to quiz yourself with 10 questions or test yourself with 100 questions. I thought it was helpful.
Also if you are willing to pay for a review, one of the best review sites is http://www.learningext.com/. This site allows you to purchase several time options from 3 weeks to 6 months. The course is the same for all options. This site is home to the authors of the NCLEX.
And there is always Kaplin.
And don't worry about your score on the practice exams. Practice lots of questions and you'll be ready for any exam. Stay calm and collected during the test. Best of luck to you.

First off- take a deep breath and relax. What you're feeling right now is normal. I felt the same way, before I sat for NCLEX.
I took the Kaplan Review, and studied the online questions, what helped me was realizing the areas that I was weak in and concentrating on those areas more.
The NCSBN offers an online study tool that several of my fellow classmates have taken at a very reasonable price and they have all passed NCLEX.
I also would do online questions and when I reviewed the questions, I paid particular attention to the ones that I got wrong and would write the question and rationale, so I could remember it better. As a recent NCLEX taker my advice is know your LEVELS, my test hit hard on Na,K, and the hypo, hyper states.
Hope this helps, Best of Luck
