plans are advancing to open an osteopathic medical school at robert morris university, in allegheny county's moon township.

heritage valley health system and robert morris university announced a five-year financial agreement intended to assist the university's plan to open a school of osteopathic medicine, while the partnership is intended to help work toward a required $20 million reserve, construct facilities and create an endowment to offset tuition, reported the post-gazette. robert morris wants to enroll its first class in fall 2008, and is seeking approvals from the state department of education and the commission on osteopathic college accreditation of the american osteopathic association, the post-gazette added.
