NCSBN online review for NCLEX or another???

Published

Can someone please give me their input on reviews that really helped them. I've done Kaplan and am considering the NCSBN NCLEX online review or something else. I really need to get started tonight or tomorrow. I'm really wanting some type/any feedback.

I don't want to pay for something that is not going to benefit me. Or send me in a direction that I could find out.

I know the content, I'm just a really bad test taker.

Thanks in advance

Kelly

you're not alone..i need the same help..i used saunders before and i dunno if it worked for me..im hearing a lot of nega feedbacks from kaplan..and its also expensive too..im not sure sith the ncsbn review courses...im at lost too..

I just subscribed to the NCSBN NCLEX-RN review and I really love it. I test too soon to qualify for Suzanne's plan and my school purchased ATI for us but I don't like it. I work with an RN who passed her boards on the 5th try after using NCSBN. I am finding it a very thorough review and the tests seem very different from any other review out there I have tried. I have used Saunders, Lippincott, Straight A's series (in school), and Mosby's review cards which are also very good for a review of content.

I am so glad I purchased the NCSBN's product and I really feel it is preparing me well. I am noticing some "easier" questions and some very challenging ones too which seems to simulate the way the NCLEX gives differing levels of difficulty on the exam.

Have you considered doing Suzanne's review? She uses the Saunders 4th edition book, which is what I used for my second exam and was close to passing (at least that is what the lady told me by the state). So, a part of me thinks I should stick with it, plus it's free (unless you don't have the book). I like the practice questions on the CD b/c it gives you rationals for all the answers wrong or right. When do you plan on testing?

I'm in a delima about the NCSBNs on line review, not many people have used it, it's basically just content knowledge and they don't have very good support, your kind of alone. They do have a chat forum like this but nobody really post anything on there, except alot of international students. Let me know what your thoughts are about it, maybe we can brain storm. I'm in the process of getting more info. about Suzanne's plan and it's looking like a go for me, for many reasons.

hello..thanks for your replies..im really interested with suzanne's plan..i'm still checkin how it works..i already have the saunders 4th ed..that's what i used before. i finished that one already..im still trying to figure out, reading some threads here to share on suzanne's plan..

The first tip of my program is actually posted in a sticky, and all of the information that is needed for it is posted directly with it. No reason to ask for other information, it is all right there.

Near passing standard is still not passing, period. The questions that you will be getting on your next exam are going to be nothing like what you had on any other exam. You need to prepare as if you have never tested before and do not rely on what you missed or did not miss on this past exam. Or that will contribute to one not passing again.

Many people have been successful when using Suzanne's plan and as someone else said it is free. You should consider using it. Good luck.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have used Suzanne's plan and have been successful? I just wanna hear some support to motivate me in sticking with this plan... Let me know how it worked out with you.

I used the NCSBN. I did the 3 month option or 4 month option. It was okay. I prefer the Saunders book. There are some advantages. You can carry it with you, like a pet. You can use it in class to supplement lecture material and you can use the CD to pretend you are actually taking the NCLEX.

The drawback for the NCSBN is you cannot take notes or draw pictures, unless you draw on your monitor. With Saunders, you can beat it up, highlight it, draw pictures in it, make dog ears, etc. Mine looks like it has been in a fire. I just took the NCLEX-PN exam at 2pm MST. I am anxiously awaiting results...
