I'm reading about everybody passing at 75. Well, I felt really confident when I went in to test today. I had done so well with the books and study questions and CD's including Saunders. Yeah, just ask me about an ABG or calculation question, or most anything except maybe peds, I could tell you.
I was so dumb I couldn't find the # of questions when the computer shut off. It shut off after 4 hours. I think I got some of the questions right but so many seemed liked "who the ?X!## put these questions in here?"
After about 3-1/2 hours I was just getting thoroughly irritated and just wanted the D........... computer to shut off. Why was it taking so long with so many questions. I"M NOT STUPID! I mean I still did my best.
I just can't believe so many of these questions seemed not knowledge based, (I did see some though). Of course, I think I failed.
They were just nothing like all the reviews questions on the CD's.
What do you all think?

I have not taken the Nclex yet.....I'm still in school. I just feel bad for you that you feel so upset. Usually when I think I have done badly on a test it turns out I have done really well! I will keep my fingers crossed for you & I hope you did great! I felt the same way when I took my last Hesi the questions were nothing like my Nclex practice questions.......turned out I scored in the upper 900's & had done really well when I just knew I had failed. Good luck to you!

I took mine wednesday... it cut off at 75 but I really will not be suprised if I fail. I did a Kaplan course, Saunders and a review at school, but those questions made me feel stupid. I am checking online every hour....good luck to you- remember 85% of people pass the first time (hard to believe).

Thank you. You are very sweet. Yes, the NCLEX really messes with your mind after all the work and time you put into it. I think I am not normal right now, I suppose my mind needs a rest. Feel a little crazy. I think a little nap might do me a lot of good. I don't suppose it's anything unusual to feel this way for a time after the test. After all, your focus has been on this test for so long, it's bound to make a few brain cells go astray.
P.S. Just about the time I was realizing that I had probably passed 75 questions by some, I thought, well, at least the computer didn't shut off at 75 because I failed. Maybe that's a good sign. I was kind of dumbfounded that I didn't know the number of answers I did, but then I again I thought, what difference would it make? The number of questions after 75 doesn't tell you anything, right?
Or does anyone know? Maybe it is giving you a chance to "prove yourself." Now I wonder, if you can fail if you get 95, 160, or 225? Yes, I know I'm a bit nutty right now.
Going to take my nap now for real. Feel like a flattened pancake.!

You can pass with 75 or 265. You can fail with the same number. Remember that each nurse taking the exam will get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. That is how the exam is set-up.
Good luck with your results......please let us know how you do... :balloons:

I took the test and passed with 108 questions, my friend had all, what 265? Both of us thought we failed... but we passed! Almost everyone thinks they failed because the questions get harder with each one you get right... so they are ALL hard!
Amy, thank you so much for the encouragement. I feel a little saner now since I took my nap. But I am in CA where they do not rush to get your results to you.
Thanks again for the encouragement.

I took the NCLEX on Wednsday. It gave me 135 questions. I was so upset, I walked out in tears. Mine was all peds and management type stuff. Only 2 pharm questions which is my best area. I have no idea how I did. Everyone at work says that I am fine, who really knows.
Feeling like an idiot in Tennessee!!!

Kimiesue: Isn't it just sadistic. I held the tears until I got into my car and cried all the way home. Bless your heart. But you know what, I believe we both passed. I just got this feeling.
I realized the reason that I didn't see the number of questions was because I left the calculator on. Only had 2 simple math questions. You will probably get your results pretty quickly, but I am in CA, so who knows. Good luck to you honey. Please let me know how you do. You'll get yours before I do. I'll do the same.

i wanted to say that you should be proud of yourself no matter what the results were. unlike school, nclex you can retake it again if you happen to fail.
i took the kaplan review, practice questions, saunders, hellen feur cd, the whole nine yards. finished my exam in 1 1/2 hr cutting out at 75 questions. i thought that i really failed!!!!! but now i'm a registered nurse!!!
after the whole exam phase, there's no really way to study for this exam. my best suggestion is taking a lot of practice questions. if you feel like there's an area that you need to review - review it. i review med-surg using my saunders.
peds/ob were review from my classroom notes.
relax and know it's all finished...:balloons:

Hi, I took my NCLEX on the 12th of this month and passed with 162 questions. I was expecting it to shut off around 75 or 100 like what mostly everyone I knew was getting & passing with. So, I was beginning to feel a little frustrated after 130 & thought I was gonna get 265. I can't study for weeks for tests, so I didn't change my ways. I studied things that I needed refreshed on for a few days before my test and guess what?? I maybe got about 2 questions dealing with what I had read over! I think there is a thing about studying too much stuff, I know I wouldnt be able to keep it straight or remember half of it. I had ALOT of prioritizing questions & probably only a handful of math & med questions, the rest of them basically felt like what the ?? there are 2 right answers here!! lol I know people who have passed & failed with 265 questions, so it's unpredictable i guess! I'm sure you did fine! Good luck!!
