Hi everyone!

I need your suggestions as to what book should I use to review for the state board if my content is bad? i am thinking about using saunders (again) but Kaplan has been on the top of the list as far as allnurses is concern.

I would love to hear from all of you nurses! thank you!

I bought Saunders, LaCharity, had an old Kaplan given to to me, NCLEX 3500 and 4000. But when I received my ATT, I went out an purchased the latest edition of Kaplan's Strategies, Practices, & Review. This was in 2010 and this was the only thing I used to prepare since I didn't even start to study until I received that authorization to test. I read it from cover to cover twice, with the second time taking much longer as I didn't move past one question until I fully understood how the correct answer came to be, and what was in the other options that eliminated them as possible correct answers. Passed on first attempt in under an hour.

If content is what you need than I recommend the Hurst's Review! The videos are great and the content is solid and easy to understand. I liked the Saunders book but didn't use it b/c I felt like it was too much info and information sticks better for me when I hear it. I'm an auditory learner. Hursts takes all the important content and breaks it down in a easy to understand format. Kaplan provides content videos when you purchase the course but it is no where near as good as Hurst in my opinion. Good luck choosing what's best for you and your learning style :)
