What are some of the best NCLEX-RN books to use in preparing for the NCLEX-RN exam? Anyone have any good suggestions for success in studying with this book for this exam and when you should start studying? Some other students say to start studying in conjunction with nursing school classes and others suggest to study during summer breaks? Which is best?

I'm doing a 100 questions a day with Saunder's and just started reading Kaplan which is a really good book that teaches you how to take the test. I would recommend these two books.
As for your other question, I honestly didn't have enough time in nursing school to practice questions. However, I did use Saunder's questions to study for tests in nursing school which was very helpful. I would highly recommend doing at least that so you'll be familiar with the test questions. If you have extra time in the summer, it wouldn't hurt to do practice questions either. Are you a recent graduate or nursing student?

I just passed the NCLEX and think saunders is great. I had a bunch of review books but found Saunders the best with good questions. The Mosby's online CAT style assessment tests are the closest to the real thing by far. You pay about $40.00 and have 30 days unlimited tests. These tests are like the CAT and go up and down in difficulty as per how you answer. It also gives you a break down of the areas you need work on. Very well worth the money.

I am a nursing student in a ADN program. Just got accepted into the program last march. I am nervous but excited to get started. I have heard many stories about Nclex and it makes me anxious to prepare and be informed for what is the best way to begin. Thanks for your information it was very helpful :)
Congrats to you! Don't get yourself all worried about the nclex, just focus on school right now. Good luck to you!
