I am struggling with studying and getting very discouraged.
I do not like the SATA!!! I am doing absolutely horrible in this area. How should I study for this!! NCLEX-RN is starting to scare me to death.
I hear it's like 50% of the exam!
HELP!

Truth is, you may get no SATA at all. Stop freaking about this type of question and concentrate on learning the concepts as best you can. The SATA questions can be dealt with at the time of the test. If you know the concepts behind the questions, you will do a good job figuring them out, but right now you are letting yourself be upset to your detriment.

I think the best way to deal with SATA is to treat each option as a single T/F question. That worked really well for me as it kept me from focusing on how many options I picked and instead on picking the most appropiate options. In my studies it seemed like I was always picking three or four options but on the actual NCLEX some of my questions I only selected one or two options and on one I picked them all!
You can get any number of them on the NCLEX, I had 6 or 7 I think? Don't recall exactly. Some people don't have any at all.

check out the Kaplan book at your local Borders and it'll give you an idea as to how to answer the questions (SATA)

I took the NCLEX-RN on May 11th and answered a grand total of 75 questions. About 10 of the questions were SATA (select all that apply).
Kaplan offers good strategies on tackling SATA questions. Saunders Comprehensive Review is also a great resource.
Thanks everyone for your advise!!

Try answering NCLEX 4000's SATA. Almost the same as NCLEX. I had 8 SATAS and to tell you the truth, it is easier than multiple choice. The choices are quite easy and common. Practice a lot of SATA questions. Good luck.

i would have to agree with xterpogz. i passed nclex with 75 questions and i had i think 10 satas. i found the sata questions easier than the multiple choice questions. you should just be familiar with your content...

If you get a lot of SATA questions you are on the right track. They are upper level questions. You don't want to overthink with the NCLEX but, you certainly don't want to overthink with the SATA questions. Quickly go through each answer (and don't go back and change) and ask yourself: does it apply? mark yes or no depending on the question and move on...is that simple. Try it.
