i haven't taken my nclex yet... but i have been going through this site a lot and the gist that i have gotten is that make sure you understand precautions (like contact, airborne, and what-not), infection control, and medications. also know your lab values. and priority question are a big one... like what client should you see first, ect.
hope this helps! and good luck!

Focus on every topic because you never can tell what question will be asked. Be prepared for unexpected!

I would say def. the infection control and prioritizing is a MUST!!!! Remember tho that all content is asked, but it's how they ask it...that's the important part. Good Luck!

I just took the NCLEX last Friday and passed! I stopped at 75.
In my honest opinion, don't waste your time on meds. In my study plan, I scheduled 3 or 4 days to dedicate for meds, but as soon as I found out more info from friends.. I decided to replace those days exclusively for practice questions. The meds that showed up on my test were ones I have never even heard of! It would've been impossible and a waste of time had I studied those.
I ended up doing 3500 practice questions (give or take a few). This is what I found was most helpful. Exposing yourself to different types of questions is the best way! I purchased the Saunders book, but I totally dropped all my content review because it wasn't working for me. The questions are all knowledge! You have most of the knowledge you need for this test. Some people tend to forget what the NCLEX is actually testing for: CRITICAL THINKING!! You will only get this from the right kind of practice question. Remember your ABCs ALWAYS!! I strongly suggest NCSBN!
I agree with the posters above in that endocrine and infection control showed up quite frequently. Check this page out: http://www.utmb.edu/ERC/student/isolatio.htm It really helped me out!
Diet was also a biggie. For example: potassium-rich foods and which kind of diets go with specific diseases (celiac, renal, Cushings, etc...).
I did not have any med math, but if you feel you are rusty you should of course do some practice.
Hope this helps!

I just took my today and I got A LOT of help from the folks here and I would agree Infection Control, SATA, Prioritizing, Lab Values and Drugs are a must. Although I know a lot of drugs and I still got stuff I had no idea about.
i had a question about St. Johns Wort. i hate those herbal questions lol
