Nclex RN February 2017

Published

Welcome, I enjoyed viewing the January 2017 Topic. This post is for all those who are taking their NCLEX RN in February. Please share how you guys are doing with your review? What materials are you using? Lets do the same and encourage each other. Thanks

I take my exam on Thursday. I am beyond nervous. I used Uworld ending with a 96% chance to pass on the predictor test which is only a 73% on it. I'm currently redoing the questions I got wrong and trying to remember the rationales for it, so my overall average right now is at 58.8% which puts my in the 78th percentile. I also did the questions from LaCharity but did not do the case studies. I also did around 500 questions from the NSNBC test bank. I also did around 100 questions from one of Saunders book and some questions from the NCLEX Mastery app, but I was doing the app during school so I didn't really use it to study. I also took this weird diagnostic test on nclexcracker.com and it said I had good chance of passing. It was only 10 questions mostly about advance directives but idk. I kind of wish I also looked at Kaplan because I saw that the questions are passing level. So now I'm worried and nervous. I just want it to be done.

I test sometime in February, I keep changing my date. I am using Uworld exclusively. I try to do about 75 questions a day. I read all rationales and write down the ones I get wrong. I haven't done the predictor yet but I plan to do it in a few days. So far I've completed the qbank and I'm doing the ones I got incorrect. I'm using Uworld, Kaplan, Mark Klimek audio, Exam cram, Lacharity. I have a lot resources at home and online.

WOW! Sounds like you'll do beautifully on the NCLEX. I will pray for you. I love Uworld, their rationales, and how its just so similar to the Nclex.

Do you like the NSNBC website and questions?

I finished my UWorld qbank with an average of 53%. I was starting off really terrible at the beginning and that's part of the reason why my score has been low. As of lately I've been ranging from 50's as high as 62's being the highest. I took my self-assessment spontaneously last week just to know my probability and did better than I thought with a 66% resulting in a Very High Chance with a 92% probability of passing. I kinda also just breezed through my Hurst qBank on my first test on got a 75/125 (they said 77/125 is high pass) I am just hoping this translates into the real NCLEX as I take it tomorrow! I am just being consumed by the stress and anxiety at this point.

YAS I feel you with the anxiety and stress. If both programs are telling you you'll pass, I feel like you will. You have to let us know how it was. How were the questions on Hurst compared to Uworld questions?

I am taking mine Friday (2/3). I did all of the UWorld questions and ended with 90th percentile overall and 96th percentile for the SIM but still so worried that I am going to get questions that I have no idea what they are talking about.

I take mine next week and have been utilizing both Kaplan and UWorld, occasionally NCLEX Mastery and Saunders strictly for content.

I just did my last Kaplan QBank questions and achieved an overall score of 59%. In the beginning, I was scoring low to mid-50s and by the end I was scoring low-60s to low 70s with my highest score at 73% on a set of 75 on my 2nd to the last set (I only did sets of 75).

I did anywhere from 150-225 questions per day. Typically I would do 150 Kaplan questions and 75 UWorld questions. I reviewed all of my questions right and wrong and took notes on content I wasn't familiar with or things that I wanted to help commit to memory a little better (currently have 27 pages of notes). I have probably spent 6 hours each day for the past 2.5 weeks just on studying and reviewing.

I took the UWorld assessment almost 2 weeks ago and scored 69% placing me at a very high chance of passing, and in the 94th percentile. I wish I had taken it closer to my test date, but I was following the study plan I had set forth for myself--plus, seeing that "very high" chance of passing early on was a confidence booster early on in my studying.

I feel as if I have improved so much over the past 2.5 weeks and I'm anxious just to take the dang thing, now! I consulted with my live Kaplan course instructor and she said I am ready to test, so I am feeling good.

All I have left are QT7 and Readiness plus a few hundred UWorld. My plan is to continue to do questions, may do incorrect Kaplan ones and the remainder of UWorld plus study the notes I took over the past few weeks from reviewing questions.

Good luck and happy studying! Sending out good vibes and happy thoughts!

How was it?

Just finished my exam and shut off at 75. I honestly feel like I did terrible. Lost count of how many SATA and I was just all over the place. However, I just tried the PVT and got this:

Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time.

Please tell me this is the good pop up!

Yes that is the good pop up! Congrats! How was it? I"m nervous but kind of over it. Hopefully I will pass tomorrow.
