NCLEX review materials>>where to buy?

Published

Hi! I will be applying for Vermont someday this month and while I'm on it, i want to start reviewing as well (kinda expensive to fail this test right?) I'm still here in the Philippines. I found some great books online but no bookstore here in Manila sells them. They actually have the old ones and not the recent one. Its also quite expensive and I will have to wait long if ever I will order online. So if I may ask, please do help me find stores here in Manila that sells a copy of new/recent review materials for NCLEX.

Also, would you recommend the Kaplan online review? (it actually costs $600+ for four months- I mean its really expensive right...I just want to make sure.)

Thanks and more power...i'll wait for your replies.

Any of the legitimate books can be ordered thru www.amazon.com.

Most of what is found in PI is illegal and bootleg and cannot be brought into any other country.

There are already many threads on preparation for the NCLEX exam that can be found on the NCLES Forum that can be found under the student tab.

a reputable bookstore in pilippines selling NLEX review book from saunders to varities of authour and publisher your choice.

what's bootleg suzanne? Tnx.

I bought my Saunders Q & A edition from C and E publishing at around 1,500 pesos (latest, original). Also they are selling these Asian edition NCLEX review materials which come cheaper than the white and glossy ones.

BY the way, ordering at amazon.com can be very expensive because you will have to pay shipping and handling fees plus the delivery of amazon.com here in our country is not that fast. A friend of mine sent me a book for a gift that should had been here before Christmas, but it arrived 2nd week of January.

Bootleg or Bootlegging generally refers to smuggling, the term comes from when people would hide things in their boots to avoid it being found,

next time learn to scan webster or search engine,,,,,,, is this the new generation of nurses!!! you should be resourceful. its a very simple thing

Yes, the C&E Publishing is the foremost place to check out specialty books. You won't go wrong if you go there, esp. on their main branch in Quezon Ave. corner Edsa.

Bootleg means an illegal copy. Example, the CD that is available from some vendors that has questions on it from about 8 different sources. This is what not to do at its finest.

The publishers in the US do prosecute and they also get heavy fines and possibly jail time for violating US copyright laws.

Copying of a book and giving it to a friend is also an example of this and something not to do.

I agree. I recommend buying the original, the glossy one. You cannot bring any low price edition of any book for that matter when you go abroad. Besides, you will learn that reading from a well printed paper will inspire you to read more (works on me! ;-)
