NCLEX in 75 questions and good PVT pop up!

I graduated nursing school last Thursday and got my authorization to test yesterday. When I logged in to schedule, I could either schedule for today or on May 30 since I will be away in mid May. I've been using uworld for the last few months so I decided to just GO for it!

The test shut off in 75 questions and when I did the pearsonvue trick 2 hours after I took the test I got the "good" pop up of "there is an open registration....."

So...I THINK I passed! Hoping the quick results don't take a full 48 hours but I'm feeling good!

If anyone has any questions about the NCLEX or Uworld, fire away!

First of all Congratulations!!!

I have lots of QUESTIONS!!! WIll be taking mine soon. How was the NCLEX? What topics or areas did you get a lot of questions? Did you only use UWORLD or any other textbook? I will be taking mine soon and have UWORLD and want to know if that is enough (as it is expensive ) to help me excel NCLEX!

Thank you!

Use U-World! The rationales are the best and really helped me understand the why behind the answer being right and wrong. I’m not a good test taker and this helped me have more confidence. Focus on your weak areas first. Mine was the heart and remembering skills.

Thank you so much! I am doing it and honestly have learned a lot from it. Congratulations

I was surprised at the content I received on the NCLEX. No lab values, no electrolyte imbalances, few basic care questions. My exam felt like it was mostly critical care questions (vents, DKA, HHS, trachs, sepsis, etc...). I did have several mental health and labor and delivery questions. Probably 5 or 6 rhythm strip interpretations. Lots of prioritization, who you'd see first and several 'which prescription would you question" questions. More meds than I expected. No calculation questions and I didn't have to use the headphones to listen to anything. I had a TON of select all that apply on my exam. And they were hard.

I used Uworld the most. I also used ATI. But the NCLEX looks EXACTLY like Uworld and I felt that helped me feel more comfortable. I felt Uworld was more beneficial to me than ATI.

Good luck!

Having the computer shut off at 75 questions indicate that you did very well or very poorly. A better indication of whether you passed or failed is your performance in nursing school. It is highly unlikely that an A/B student from a school with good NCLEX pass rates would fail so miserably that the computer wouldn't continue to give questions. It is more likely that you did very well and shut off because you passed.

I graduated nursing school with a 3.89 GPA from a school with a 97% NCLEX pass rate, so hopefully that means good news as well!

From your username it seems you work in the NICU - that's where I'm heading as well! I start in a level III NICU in June! Any tips to get prepared?
