Hello All....I'm new to posting here but I have enjoyed reading feedback and it seems like we all come together and are supportive of each other. So here is my issue. I am from San Antonio,Texas and I just sat for NLCEX PN on Monday 9/22/14 at 11am. I studied my behind off. I got great scores in nursing school and did pretty well on ATI. I took the Hurst and did pretty well and got great scores with the Q Review. I felt pretty confident that i knew my core content. I start my test and thought I paced myself pretty good. I finally got up to empty my bladder at question 58 and the 2 hour mark for a break. I was determined that I would not get up again. Long story short I look up and my time is running out. I guess I was gonna be the lucky one to get all 205 questions. My time ran out at question 180. I feel like such a loser. I have been sick the last 2 days. I attempted the PVT but didn't go all the way through because I truly don't have another $200 right now !! HEELLLPPPP....any words of advice, or thoughts or opinions you guys can share ?? Thanks...Y'all pray for me !!

I took mine at 1 pm on 9/22. Mine shut off at 85 after an hour and 20 min. I thought for sure I failed but today I found out I passed. I hope you find out soon!
That's great news. I'm so excited for you. I'm still eating. I just went to pearson but it's still saying that results are not available. Did you pay for the quick results?

I took mine on 9/19 and wasn't able to use the Quick Results to see if I passed until 9/22. I passed and was dancing around the room haha. I thought for sure I'd failed.
That's awesome....congrats to you !! I bet you are relieved. Hopefully I'll be doing the same dance here pretty soon!!
Have you found out yet if you have passed???? I would still be dying if I didn't know.
Yes i actually found out this morning that i failed!!! I feel like such a loser. I really felt good about. I guess time got the best of me ! Thanks for checking on me.

Don't give up! Now you know what to expect and you'll be better prepared next time.
Time was also my issue and I trained myself not to linger on questions, read it twice, select an answer and move on to the next question.
thank you BSNRN2014...i truly appreciate that. And you're right. I just feel like i got a crappy education and i had to teach myself alot of that material. Been in healthcare forever and just ready to start my car. But all i can do is continue to practice. But thank you for those you're so right and i thank you!

Sorry to hear that you failed your exam. Failure isn't the end of the world. I would suggest waiting until your Candidate Performance Report arrives before you seriously restart your quest for earning your license. I suspect that since you went pretty far beyond the 85 question minimum, you probably actually do know your "stuff" content-wise. What you might want to concentrate your efforts on is NCLEX test taking strategies that are specific to these kinds of questions. See if you can figure out what category a question is from and from that, you should be able to figure out what kind of answer the question is looking for.
The NCLEX can be passed, it just takes some people a time or three (or more) to pass it.
Thank you for your kind words akulahawkRN, I really did feel good. I know that I did have alot of select all that apply, maternity, and psych oh and also delegation. I was surprised that I didn't have one lab or math question. I never had to use my erase board. Lol... You're right. I'll just have to wait for the report. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks a bunch!
tatum210 when I was studying I also felt like my school did not prepare me well for the NCLEX, so I took a content prep class which really helped.
My classmates used to make fun of me saying that I would be the first one to pass at 75 questions with no time left on the clock :)
Because of those jokes I decided to also focus on learning strategies and on training myself to do a lot of questions on the computer. The more questions I did the better I became at figuring out questions, picking up on tricks/trick answer choices etc.
Another piece of advice my teacher gave me is if you start making up stories, rationalizing or saying "maybe" that means you're reading too much into a question.
