I graduated LPN school in May 2006. I took the NCLEX-PN 3 times and I failed all 3 times. It's been 3 years since I've graduated and over year since the last time I took NCLEX-PN. After not passing I felt very discouraged. I think I am ready to try this again but I need advice and encouragement. I really want this. I worked to hard through school to just give up. If anyone can help me or give me advice I would really really appreciate it.

Do not be discouraged, it all depends on how bad u want it. take a refresher course at a college near you, or buy a nclex-pn prep book. i recommend the saunders review 4th edition, it has content review plus the quetions. make a 45 days study plan provided by the saunders after a 100 assessment exam on te CD. you'll fly thru it.

Since you took it 3 times you should have that test imbedded in your head. Try to remember all that you took and write down how you prepared for the test and try something different. You should take a refresher course and get the newest N-clex pn with cd to help you study and make sure you go through it and learn in inside and out, There has been a lot of new things thats been taught since youve taken classes. Maybe you can see if you can talk to a tutor or I know that have a N-Clex review class in colleges so you should definitley take that and maybe meet other students that you can study with and this time you will pass.

Hi Brandi,

i know how you feel, I have issues with test taking and i pick the wrong answers all the times, even though i know the material. check this web site out it will help you refresh your memory okey, and remember the longer you wait, the smaller your chances get of passing. i graduated in may and Iam preparing for my nclex in august and i cant tell you how many thing i already forgot. one of my classmates took the nclex after one week of graduation and he passed and believe me he didnt prepare for it, everyhting was still fresh in his head. the web site is this. read the complete review okey:

if you need some support we can help each other.

god bless and good luck

you know also too what you can do is just take your NA test and work somewhere for a while. The you can become familiar and comfortable with the nursing thing again. Hands on is always the way too go. Its not what you want and thats not what you went to school to become but something in your life is not helping you pass this test. Maybe you can go out and get a field for it and the hands on experience may be the motivation you need. Plus when you do take you n-clex you will have already found a place to work with experience but this time go back as an LPN. =)It may be a good start concidering you took the test 3 times already. Maybe this is the break you need to refresh you mind. Take the NA test, work in a nursing home or hospital, and then prepare yourself for the N-Clex while you work as a NA.

arianna_marie you are right. i was thinking about doing that after i take the test this next time if i do not pass. b/c i agree hands on will help me get the feel of things. i mean i am very motivated to doing this. sometimes i think i just stress myself out thinking about it and wanting it so bad that it's hard for me to absorb information. when i do these practice questions and i get one wrong that is so easy i am so hard on myself and think... " well how am i suppose to pass this test if i can't even get these right?" anyways... i am not just going to give up and i will do what i have to do to be where i want to be someday. :) i know i can do this. your right maybe i should look into na for a while. it can't hurt me it can only help. thanks so much for the advice!! i'll keep ya'll posted!

hi brandi,

i recently passed my lvn last friday. i'm having ahard time to pass my rn so, i decided to take lvn first and then rn. now i'm done with my lvn i am looking forward for my next exam w/c is nclex-rn. one day i went to barnes and nobles to purchase a review book. i've been through a lot of books and tired of going back and forth reading chapter by chapter until one guy approached me while i am looking for a better book and he told me why don't you try exam cram nclex-pn he said it took him 3 weeks to practice all the question on the cd and passed. i decided to buy and take my chance. believe me the cd was good it is almost the same as nclex what i mean is not the exact contect but the format. it helpds you to be familiar with real nclex and would you believe it was endorsed by pearson. just try and check the book if you don't like you can always return. now i am using the nclex-rn exam cram. this book helps you to master every chapter before they allow you to go to the next level. you can't go to the next level unitl you already master the subject which is good. i hope this little thing that i've shared will bring you to a success that you are longing for for 3 years. smile.png i wish you good luck

happifrise: i've heard a lot of people talk about the exam cram. i am currently enrolled in kaplan q-bank for pn's but i am going to check out the exam cram for pn's now. i really really appreciate the recommendation! so the exam cram is the same way for pn? it won’t let you go on to the next level unless you master it? thanks so much you are a blessing! j good luck to you on the nclex rn!
