Woe!!! There is no way you can do that many questions and take the nclex in august! Most days I could only get through 100 questions (being sure to read each rationale and test strategy). There were a few days when I would get on a caffeine high and do 300...but that was not every day!

My idea of study is different but i will rather advice you to understand the content first, then move on doing question. It does not matter how many question you answered but what you understand does matter. If you decide doing 100 question/ day, focus your attention on missed question instead of every question. Once you get the question right the first time, that signify you understand the question. Have you tried doing the question in Test mode? Test mode and content work best for me and i do excel in every area. I score > than 70% which is not that bad.:lol2:

My comment was in regards to your plan to do over 9000 questions in preparation to take the nclex in August. If that is how many you are going to do, great, I just didn't think it was realistic from my experience. I have already taken the nclex. Good luck!

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

I made an appointment for 9/1 for the NCLEX - I'm in LA and they didn't have any dates whatsoever for August at the location I want. What is the NCSBN? I have the book and CD for Kaplan 2010 but I can't afford $499, and I saw NCSBN is $49 for 3 weeks.

Hi again,

I read the posts about how many questions a day would be possible/constructive to answer. I adhere to a daily schedule - mornings 8am to 1pm 120 questions - I'm reading the rationales and taking quick notes as of the content areas I lack. Then I do chores or watch TV for a couple of hours to let my brain relax; then 2pm to 5 pm I review (and take notes) on the content I had marked earlier. Then I retake the tests but from three days ago (I made a rotation schedule) in order to make sure I don't answer from memory. Then I put myself to sleep by reading the notes I took on content. I have no life, period. BTW, I friend of mine took the NCLEX about a week ago and said it was easier than the tests we used to take in school. Hope she's right.

I am doing at this time 50 questions of Kaplan a day, review material on the videos and I do saunders. I use Kaplan as my guide in how much studying I think I need, but I make very decent scores, above of what is expected so I just try to keep up with that. I just studied like a mad woman for my hesi and so now it is only maintaining the knowledge and add some to it. I am very consistent with my studying and do not skip any days and it takes me about three hours to four hours a day to get through the material. I also do every day a section of meds from the kaplan book, this way I should get through all of them by August.

is "NCLEX 3500" a book or a CD-ROM?? anyone have a link so i can see what it looks like??

Go and use your google...put in ....Nclex 3500...then when it pops up use the instituional version

Oh, Nclex 3500 I think is good for information, but I felt that the questions were not as challenging as Kaplan or Saunders even

okay, thanks suzanne :)

Taking the NCLEX-RN for the 3rd time, on Aug.31 (MY BIRTHDAY!:smiley_aa) at the Pasadena center. I've tried the Hurst review course and Kaplan test taking strategies for the past 2 attempts, this time I am trying Saunders 4th edition review and questions (I just finished the content review last week and now starting the CD portion with 100q's per day before my test date). I have this positive feeling that everything has come into place for me to pass the 3rd time (everything does happen for a reason and a purpose). Hopefully on the day I take the nclex, it will be the best bday self-present ever :biggringi. Goodluck to all August test takers...remember there is hope, just believe and don't give up!

hi! taking my nclex in august too. i was hoping a forum would be started for us august people!

doing kaplan in class.

saunders cd questions. (since kaplan advises to not do any qbank questions till class is done, right?) i can only do about 100 saunders questions a day because i take notes on each one.. maybe i'm spending too much time taking notes?!?!?

any suggestions on how to study pharm?

and i just went to borders today.. they have another kaplan book. it's skinnier and i think it's called kaplan nclex 2010. i bought it. anybody used this one?

and i also bought nclex made easy.

anybody had experience with these books? helpful?
