Hello, I'm also a UK nurse! I sat the NCLEX-RN yesterday. I do know why I checked the BON website this afternoon and found I too have failed! I've been using the Kaplan and Saunders book (albeit rather sporadically!). I have now decided to return to the books and I am also considering the online Kaplan course.

Having experience is a pain when it comes to sitting the NCLEX. I too UK trained passed on my third attempt and that was after I found Saunders comprehensive and just concentrated on doing questions. I only read the chapters if I was struggling in a certain area. My suggestion would be to keep practicing questions and read the rationale. Even if you get the question right I would read the rationale as it would confirm whether I was on the right track as well as what keywords to look for in the question to point towards the right answer

I'm defiantly going to need to start reading Saunders again and this time check my answers properly (whoops!).

If you don't mind me asking, are you currently practising in the US and if so how did you find the transition?

I've just been reading something about visa retrogression! My goodness… is there really a long wait for a visa and does this mean hospitals are no longer employing from the UK? Its funny, I'm pretty sure a the RCN magazine was advertising back-to-back for US post a few years ago, and come to think of it I've not seen any adverts for a while

I ended up moving to Canada and love it.

regarding retrogression a lot depends on place of birth. If you search US visa bulletin and look up EB3 on the current bulletin it will indicate current processing times

Depends on the state you apply to. Only a small handful of states require CGFNS exam most just require CES report or other acceptable agency report that is a breakdown of your transcripts

your studies or degree?

Im reading a lot that UK nurses fall short in Pead's and Mental health.

I qualified in 2007 to a bachelors degree.

You cannot sit NCLEX until you meet criteria so if top up is required it has to be done first
