Took NCLEX...80 Questions

  1. Hi all,

So I finally took my NCLEX today at 8 am. I initially felt really good in the beginning of the exam, almost every other question was a SATA and I had a few in a row plus some put in order questions. And then the worst happened - the questions began to feel too easy, the SATA stopped around question 60 and I began to panic.

Once I got to 76 I took a short break to go to the bathroom, I came back and answered 4 more questions - I remember one of them was related to ambulating a client and the other was identifying a delusion based on a client statement. Then the test shut off at question 80.

Needless to say, I don't feel good at all. Most of the time I felt like I was answering blindly, I encountered meds and procedures I didn't recognize. At this point I'm almost 100% sure I failed. I don't even have the courage to check the PVT.

You do not need to feel like you have no faith. Try to be positive and luckily you might have passed. Goodluck to you! Hoping to hear the goodnews that you passed. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Congratulations in advance! You made it! Which of the materials you used do you think is close to the level of question you had on the nclex? Any input will be appreciated.

I used a combination of UWorld, Hurst, and Kaplan. I graduated on May 17th and immediately got down to studying. Our nursing program included a 3 day in person Hurst review, and I also paid for a 3 day in person Kaplan session about two weeks after finishing Hurst. For the first couple of weeks I re-watched the Hurst videos and followed along with my book, making notes and flash cards of topics I didn't understand well. I used UWorld after I felt moderately comfortable with the core content material, doing anywhere between 100-200 questions per day.

As I studied, I also made a word document of all the rationales that were difficult and went over them as much as I could. I finished the entire UWorld q-bank about two weeks before my test and began going over the incorrect questions - I did about half of the incorrect questions before testing. I tried to do the Kaplan q-trainers and q-bank but found it wasn't helping me learn, their rationales are not as concise as UWorld. However, their q-bank is definitely way above the passing line. Last week I took the second self assessment and scored a 62.7% which put me in the 72nd percentile with a very high chance of passing.

Overall I feel that UWorld was my best resource as far as practice questions and even learning some content. The NCLEX felt very similar to UWorld, and I felt that the SATA were much easier than the ones in the q-bank. Although I am still waiting on my 'official' results, I'm praying that the good PVT pop up is valid for me I wish you all the best of luck with your studies! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you! Congrats! I have both uworld and Kaplan, but pretty much sticking to uworld. I also been listening to nclex junkie audios. I'm very nervous about taking next Monday. What are did the test you on the most?

I had a lot of priority, delegation, and management questions. Not as many SATA, only about 15, and 3 drag and drop. I only had one med calc too. Keep studying! Doing practice questions is what will help get your mind in gear for the test. Make sure you have a good breakfast before you head to the testing center.

Took the NCLEX earlier today, stopped at 80s. I had about 20 SATAs 1 drag and drop 2 med calcs an exhibit question and the rest are multiple choice questions. So afraid to do the PVT so I'm ginna wait for 2 days for the unofficial results. Anyway I thank God for the opportunity given me, that is to take the NCLEX

You're welcome! Honestly I feel like UWorld is the BEST resource out there right now. It is literally the NCLEX bible. I just checked my BON's website and it's official! I PASSED! I can finally say I'm a registered nurse
