My soon-to-be-wife, and American, and I intend to move to the US in a couple of years. I am a staff nurse here in the UK. I'm just starting to check on those things I need to know about in order to become a registered nurse in Wisconsin, and it seems that the NCLEX is the place to start. But, how long is the NCLEX good for? If I take it in six months and don't make the move for 18 months after that, would I need to retake it?
Thanks for any help!

In order to maintain your license ( I was told) you have to work 1 day per year. You also have to have "in-service" or continuing education. I don't know how much. If you are already a nurse I would check on how your license will transfer over here....you may not have to do much. Good Luck
