i received my official letter yesterday with my specific results in each category...wow i did sooo much worse than the first time...which i knew anyways when the computer shut off at 75 questions. the 1st 4 categories i scored "below the passing standard :cry:and the last 4 i scored "near the passing standard". i am trying not to feel like i will never pass this exam but it is getting harder to stay positive. las time i tested, i was above on 2 categories, below on 1 and the rest were near passing. i really blew it this time. starting monday i have to focus my whole life on studying, i really have to be dedicated. i can't even imagine not passing this next time. i feel like i have no memory at all about anything i learned in nursing school. i have to get my priorities in order and write out a study schedule and stick to it. i already told my husband that all the running around with the kids and their activities is coming to a complete stop...it's all him now...the most i am going to do is cook dinner and do laundry. grocery shopping, parties, cleaning and everything else is all on his plate....i can't do this anymore. :crying2:

I am willing to help you to pass this exam, there is no reason that you need to put your life on hold, but you need to be able to spend three hours or so each and every day.

The exam is interested in what you will do with the information that is already in your head, not for you to cover additional material and try to memorize it. They want you to understand how the information will be used when you start to practice.

You can get thru this exam, but the goal is to understand what the exam is looking for in an answer and nothing more than that.

Best of luck to you.

Momofthree,

I'm so sorry to hear about your results. But don't give up! Take a well deserved week off from studying, get lots of rest, and get back on board with organizing a study plan. What were your previous plans before? What do you think needs to be changed from that regime? I will keep you in prayer and I know that you can do it! You can PM me if you have any questions.

Blessings,

Nette

I'm sorry to hear that momofthree, it must be hard for you. Take a break for a while. remember, the best is yet to come. God bless!!

my previous study plans were...uggghh..:no:not to good. i am most upset with myself because once again, i procrastinated. i would just answer questions from saunders, nclex 4000 and mosby's study cards. i never really had a schedule or a routine. it was all hit or miss. the only thing that is keeping me going right now is this...had i completed suzanne's plan or ncsbn and i knew in my heart that i studied to my fullest ability and really had a grasp on things...i would be 10 times more devastated that i already am...this is my own fault to think that i could study 3 hours a week and go in and pass this exam. this is why now i am going to give it everything i have, i mean everything. i have learned a very hard lesson..not once..but twice....this exam is not one you can half study for and think you are going to pass. i have let my family and friends down twice...and i refuse to do it again. thanks for the positive thoughts, i appreciate them!!!!:heartbeat

:( Sorry to hear you did not pass this time. Do give Suzanne 's Plan consideration though. Alot of the new grads where I was working failed first time and some even failed their second time. You are not alone. You can do this. You will do this. You can and will be successful. :icon_hug:

:flwrhrts:Good Luck.

You can find the first tip of my program in a sticky at the top of this forum. All of the instructions are given there and need to be followed exactly as they are written.

please,please,please....pay attention to suzannes first response in this thread......you need to figure out how to take this exam, not more rote memorization!!!!!!! have you taken a test taking course...? a course in critical thinking?????....i am one of those who do well with (at least the older version)of multiple choice exam.....you need to read....and assess...you already have the facts........

any advice on how to figure out how to take this exam? i have never heard of a critical thinking course...would that be a kaplan type course? i am sure a ton of repeat test takers would appreciate any advice on this topic.
