Pearson Vue trick 2014 -still works!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took my NCLEX in AL yesterday and as soon as it said delivery successful, I tried the trick and I got the good pop up!! Then today when I looked on the AL Board of Nursing my name is listed as an active RN as of today!! :) So the trick works still as of 1/9/14. I still cannot believe I'm officially a Registered Nurse!!

The number of questions is relevent only in two instances: stopping at the minimum (75 for RN, 85 for PN) means either you did very well and proved competency quickly, or did very poorly and could not possibly prove competency for that test at that time.

Getting the maximum number of questions (265 for RN, 205 for PN) means that you were wavering between pass and fail for the entire test, so "good news" is you're in the game right up until the end. Bad news, however, is that if you fell below passing standard at the end of the test, you would fail. Good news is if it's above passing standard at the time it concludes, you pass :)

Other than that, the number of questions anyone gets is completely irrelevent.

Notification was sent to nursing schools that the loop hole has been plugged and the trick no longer fuctions it has been so for those in California you just have to wait for RN the number to generate on the board and LVN to get your letter in the mail

So I am so confused and just curious. You basically need to wait until it says results submitted before you attempt the trick? Or has the loophole been plugged everywhere at this point?

I'm doing a copy/paste to save myself the re-typing:

As for the PVT: everyone is directed to the credit card screen, regardless of test results. You would have to actually submit your financial info in order to see if you can register again; STRONG CAUTION there as people have thrown $200 out the window (actually, donated it to PV!) because they registered for a test they don't need (passed).

Your exam is scored twice within a 24 hour period; until BOTH sets of scores are completed, you can know NOTHING. If you feel the urge to do the PVT, you'd need to wait until the scoring period is over to see if you can register again.

If you have the option of Quick Results in 48 hours, pay the eight bucks and be sure!

Thanks so much. I tried the PVT prior to posting originally and it attempted to take my money (declined the card) so I am naturally assuming that I didn't pass. I have seen people say that you need to wait until it says transferred or submitted to attempt the trick and that it needs to be at least 24 hours. So I am guessing I didn't pass via the computer (168 questions 27 SATA with that being my last two) and will have to wait until it is reevaluated again. But what is the likelihood that it will change to passing?

It is computer-scored both times. As for the likelihood of passing, that'd be hard to say, as the only real way to know what percentage of the time the second score is a 'pass' when the first score is a 'fail' would be to have Pearson Vue track and calculate those numbers.....and then put that statistic on their FAQ page. Which, IMHO, is about as likely as Buffalo NY waking up to 90 degree weather tomorrow!

That said, there IS most definitely a chance that you did not fail, that your second score is a pass. I don't want to build false hopes, but I *HAVE* seen people despairing over this only to find out that they passed after all. So.....give it a bit of time. And then we'll see!

Took my NCLEX this morning in CT. I tried the trick (PVT) within minutes and it would not let me re-register! I put in my actual credit card information and they did not try to take the money from my account. Hope this is helpful to people who are nervous about the money being taken from their account. I figured if I failed I'd be paying the $200 again anyway, so it didn't matter. I will update when I get my quick results!

Sigh.....another one. I'm guessing by this post that you read NOTHING on this message board, or even this thread, about how the NCLEX is scored, and how that relates to the PVT?

Going on that guess.....here's what you need to know: The exam is scored TWICE. If after the first scoring you are at 'pass' status (and that's when you played the PVT), it won't take your money. This indicates that your first scoring was most likely a pass. HOWEVER....and it's a HUGE 'however'....if the second scoring is a 'fail', that is the one that matters. In which case, you will have been celebrating your success only to find out you failed. Kinda embarrassing to explain to everyone you just told you passed....you get the idea.

Now, if your second scoring is also a 'pass'...Yay! You lucked out and didn't suffer the humiliation outlined above.

Conversely, if your first score was a 'fail'....yepper, it's going to take your money and you are crushed. BUT WAIT! If your second scoring is a 'pass'....you paid $200 for no reason and its nonrefundable....plus you freaked out over your failure and didn't fail at all. What a waste of angst! Kinda stupid.

Most of the time, the two scores match, and people shriek "it works only minutes after you finish the test, try it, it's 100% accurate!!" and they have no clue that they only fell into the group that does have two matching scores.

Scores are finalized 24 hours after completion of the exam UNLESS a hold has been placed at any point, which lengthens the wait time. Trying the PVT prior to this only means that you know what your first score *probably* was (pass/fail). Before 24 hours, though, it means nothing.

So no, your message does nothing to help those who are frantic over results....it only continues the line of misinformation. It's hard enough peeling people off the walls when they are ridiculously anxious, without feeding it more fertilizer...!

Hi I took my 1st exam July 24, 2014 tried the PVT and got the bad pop up message. Today November 25 I took the NCLEX-RN again and tried the PVT and went to CC page directly so again I felt crying. Few minutes later I read the comments in this forum and confirmed if the trick still works? many have said that the site has been updated and there's a new way to check if you pass or not. Arrrgh I just hate to wait, so to cut the long story short I entered all my card info and hit "submit" coz what I have in mind is if I faliled I would have to pay anyway so why would I be afraid (spending my saved money for christmas--- SACRIFICE). The payment went through and got my receipt via mail. So I failed and will just wait for 45 days to get my new ATT. At the back of my mind there is this little hope that the new trick is false. Well if it is false I lost $200 (that's the sad part) Will update you after 48hrs will wait for quick result... if some of you would think that I'm wasting my money? hmmm I guess It's just killing me not to know the result right away. Best of luck to those who will retake and congrats to those who passed. ;) Happy Holidays

You posted your message without reading the post DIRECTLY before yours...? If you had read it, you'd know everything you needed to know. I'll do a copy/paste to save some effort:

First of all,

You are very rude, I'd just like to throw that our there.

I did, in fact, read your opinion on the PVT. That is why I chose to post my experience, it has been over 24 hours and I have tried the trick multiple times since I left the testing facility until now. If you think we're all dumb for using this trick, that's fine, I don't really care - you don't need to attack every person who posts in this thread that they used the PVT. It had worked for all of my classmates so I was willing to try it. Like I said, I will post again when I get my quick results.

Our society now just can't wait for anything. I blame it on the internet and the ability to get most info in a split second on a computer or smart phone.

16 years ago when I took the CPA exam it was a written test over 2 days and you had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for mailed results to your home.

And we can't wait 48 hours for online results LOL.
