Passed with 75 questions thanks to UWORLD & HURST

  1. I just found out on January 25th,2016 that I passed my NCLEX-RN the second time with 75 questions!!! I could not have done it without using the UWOLRD question bank as well as the HURST content review!!!!

I graduated from nursing school in December 2014, did the Kaplan review and their whole QBANK and really didn't feel confident because their rationales weren't thorough enough. I also felt that I couldn't apply the decision tree to any of the questions. I took my first test in March 2015, got all 265 questions and FAILED! After that I was depressed for the rest of the year.

I then bought HURST because I needed content review and that helped me a ton! I also bought LaCharitys Priority, delegation and Assignment, which is a great book as well.

Then my friend told me about UWORLD. I read the testimonials and thought it was just another question bank site trying to make money. I did the practice questions and was blown away at how thorough the rationales were. Not only did you learn why the right answer was right, but you also learned why the wrong answers were wrong and what situations you would instead see those in.

The questions I got when I would practice were actually harder than the questions I got on my actual NCLEX! When I took my NCLEX I felt like my questions were way too easy and that it was too good to be true. I really thought that I failed, but I found out that I passed!!!!!

I just wanted to let people know who are on the fence about buying the UWOLRD QBANK that this site is amazing!!!!! I stand by this product and have told anyone who's asked me how I passed to use this site!!! You do need to put work in though, as long as you do the questions and read the rationales and understand why you got the answer wrong or right you'll be set!

Good luck to everyone who is studying!!! Just believe that it is possible to PASS, and use UWORLD and Hurst to help set you up for success!!!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to you Chris10RN!!! I'm currently studying to take my NCLEX-RN exam in a few weeks. My school used Kaplan but honestly I quit using it weeks ago. The rationales weren't thorough enough for me and definitely not as joyful and engaging as my 2 other study modes. I've been instead using UWORLD and the NCLEX-RN Mastery App... and their BOTH awesome! Especially that darn UWORLD, iLOVE it. Everyone that I know that used UWORLD has passed on the first try and I'm next (gotta put that positive energy into the air yah know, speak it into existence). It's not that expensive and definitely WORTH IT.

All the best to you in your NEW nursing endeavors...

I loved UWOLRD! It's an amazing product and I'm glad your classmates were successful with it as well.

Hi congrats on your passing. I just want to ask about UWORLD is it only a question or Qbank or they also offer review online? Because I dont know if I am going to purchase the 1month subscription or the 3months. Can you please tell me more about this? And how many question do they have? Thanks in advance

Hello! UWORLD is only a Question bank, but honestly the rationales are so detailed that it is pretty much a review. There are about 1700+ questions. I think the only thing some people would have a problem with it is that you can only test 75 questions at a time, but I didn't mind that. It's convenient because there is also an app for your smart phone that you can use as well. I would do their questions for a couple of months and review them and the rationales to really understand why you got them wrong or right. The only way I really passed was by constantly reviewing their rationales and understanding why I didn't get it right.

If you are looking for an online review I would highly suggest HURST. I used their comprehensive review before doing the UWORLD question bank, and I truly believe that because I used these two together that is why I passed! Best of luck to you. I hope you find HURST and UWORLD as helpful as I did!

Hi thank you for your response, so you are saying that I should know first my content before using this app right? I am currently using saunders 5th edition. And the 75 question is that everyday that they are going to provide u? So I can just get the 1month subs?

I would say that it is a good idea to have a good foundation for content before doing questions, but it's not necessary. It really just depends on you. For myself I needed to have a thorough content review so I felt more comfortable knowing all of my systems so that while doing questions I was already picturing what is going on and why. If you feel comfortable with the amount of content you have reviewed then that's great!

I have the Saunders book, but never really used it. Some of my friends and classmates have used it and were successful with the NCLEX.

As for the questions, you can do as many as you want a day. It only limits you to 75 per test that you take. I've read that some people don't like that because they want to have longer tests, but you can take as many tests as you want a day.

Oh thank you so much I really needed some advice. By the way I am 11 years out of school and 1st try to take this test so I really need good foundation in content. I am planning to try Rachell Allen review have you heard that before? If ever I will try also hurst if Rachell Allen is not available in my state which is new jersey I am planning to take hurst. Can you give me some idea about hurst? Is that expensive? Thanks

Do they have Uworld for graduate studies, for example FNP?

Does anyone know if morphine can be used for pain caused by pancreatitis? According to Lippincott and Hurst we do not use morphine. But Uworld said that we can use morphine since "the increase in the sphincter of oddi pressure has not been proven"

Wow 11 years! I think that's great! I've never heard of Rachell Allen, but if other people have been successful with it then I would say to try it!! I live in Hawaii where there are only Hurst or Kaplan live reviews available, but I did the Hurst review online. I absolutely loved it! It was a little pricey ($300), but you are given access to the core content for 3 months. It consists of videos and all the systems are broken up into different videos. The videos also come with their own notes, which have blank spaces for you to fill in while you're watching the videos and you can take your own notes on them as well. After the core content there are the extra videos and notes which are referred to as "5th day materials/content" which are on: Neuro, Maternity, Complications in Maternity, PEDS, Management, and they give you tips on how to pass. You have access to these 5th day materials for a year after your subscription starts.

I felt like I learned more with the HURST review than I did in nursing school. It really helped me get comfortable with the content and made me more confident in studying. So if you do try anything I would really advocate for HURST. I'm the type of learner who needs things explained for me and this did the job. I am happy to help with any other advice you may need. Don't give up and keep studying!

Unfortunately, I don't believe they do at the moment. For nursing all I see is the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN.
