Hi and welcome to the site

Moved this to the NCLEX forum. Good idea is go to good local book store and browse their NCLEX books and see what suits you. Saunders comprehensive is a good book to look at

If the person has been out of nursing for many years then the BON can request that the NCLEX is taken. We have had several nurses have to take it for this reason and many passed with careful study

What I don't understand is that I have been an active nurse all these years and have never had a lapse in my license. I have had 30 hours of continued education every 2 yrs for the past 30 yrs.

If you have maintained an active license it does seem strange that the BON is requiring you to sit NCLEX. The only thing I can think of is have you worked in the last few years as a nurse? If you have no recent nursing experience that may be why they are asking you to sit NCLEX

You might consider taking a review course to help you deal with the NCLEX style of questions to get started. Many people study using the Saunders Comprehensive Review. Make certain you give yourself enough time to cover the material. Good luck.
