I'm sure I failed it. I feel terrible. I did Suzanne's plan, then Kaplan and the MOSBY CAT, and I didn't find any of them helpful for taking the NEXLEX. The test was so specific, and I've had a feeling for weeks that I'd go to 265 Q's. I guess I'll have to try the NCSBN review--I wish I had thought of it before. Now I'll have to wait at least 45 days to retest, and I'm still taking classes so it's not like I can focus all my energy on studying for the re-test. I've seen the advice given to other people in this situation about being more comfortable the second time because you'll know what to expect, but I don't see it that way. It's not like you'll get the same questions.

What a terrible feeling. I know people say the # of questions doesn't mean anything, but I even overheard the people at the Pearson test site tell another test taker that she most likely passed because she only got 75 questions.

I feel like 20 people just kicked me in the gut. :(

Sorry, but I have seen quite a few not pass with 75 either.

Why don;t you wait and see how you actually did? There are quite af ew that pass with the 265.

And it looks like you did not follow my program..........................if you were able to do it and then review the other programs afterwards, you did not stick to my program.

Hi there. I took my NCLEX on February 2nd, it shut off at 80 Q's. I think we all feel like we failed it. Not one person I talked to came out of that feeling great about it. I sure didn't. I was soooo pessimistic about it. I kept stressing myself out and rehashing the questions and researching answers. I stressed for nothing. I did pass. So far, 11 of us from our class have taken it and have passed. Two got 75 Q's, I got 80, one gal got 110, another 145, one got 263, and four or five got 265. Not sure of how many the other got. So, relax, it is over.... nothing you can do about it now. So kick back and TRY to telax. Please keep us posted, I am sure you did great, and will keep you in my prayers! Lori :nurse:

Well the reason I'm so sure I failed is because towards the end, the questions got easier, not harder, so that's not a good sign. I've also seen where people say if you get 265, you have to get the last 60 Q's right in order to pass. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, I definitely failed because I know I didn't get the last 60 right. Maybe I went through the exam too fast. I finished the 265 Q's in 3 hours.

I was the "go-to" person in my study group. Everytime we studied together for the NCLEX and one of my friends didn't understand something, or couldn't remember facts about a particular drug, I was the one who knew the answer. I felt confident before the test, yet I had a feeling deep down that that was NOT a good thing. I'm weird like that. I also had a feeling I'd have to do 265 Q's even though all my classmates got 75-100. Hey maybe I should go into the psychic reading business instead.

Anyway, I'll go back to the drawing board and will try the NCSBN program. I don't know how I'll get through another study session, it was so stressful this last time around, I even had heart palpitations for a couple of weeks before the exam, and I don't know if it's worth all the physical effects to deal with this again. I'm a type I diabetic so I have to be even more careful with my health than the average person. Plus, since I'm still taking classes I can't put all my energy into studying for the NCLEX.

Oh well, at least I can vent here. :)

Well, ya never know. Maybe they seemed easy because you knew the answer! We don't know what they consider higher level Q's or lower level. And I think they do take the last 60 questions into account, but you don't have to get them ALL right, just again, have a higher % above the passing line than below it. The only time you have to get the last 60 questions right in order to pass is when you run out of time. You didn't run out of time, so your pass/fail status will not be based on just your last 60 questions.

Try not to worry - I know it's hard. Give yourself a break for now.

I had 199 questions the last asking about bronchovesicular sounds and passed. Now it can't get any more basic than lung sounds, so keep your chin up and wait for the outcome. You may have passed.

I passed with 265.

Johari is right, not because the last few questions were easy means you failed the exam. I passed at 75 but my last 2-3 questions were relatively easy.
