I'm confused. . . Maybe it is just the lack of sleep as I just got home but please be gentle and don't get mad for the dumb question. . .

But.................If you passed and are now an RN, why do you have another 6 months til graduation?????

For enquiring minds who want to know... I'm in a bridge master's program for non-RNs. I have taken 3 semesters of general nursing classes and clinical and one semester of master's classes and clinical. My school worked out a deal with the board of nursing that as long as we complete 4 semesters of classes in good standing and the required clinical hours, we can sit for the NCLEX. We have to be RN's to be in our clinical preceptorships. So... I have another semester and a half to finish the masters' classes.

I will graduate in August with a MSN and be able to work as a NP. Though not right away. I have to be board certified and get a certificate of fitness from the state. I plan on working for a year and then getting certified. My specialty is acute care and I would feel more comfortable in a NP role with some more ICU experience.
