I am almost done reading the Saunders Comprehensive book, then I will answer 100-150 questions per day in the accompanied CD of Saunders Book. I am doing better compared last year when I took my first attempt. I understand more the concepts as well as test-taking strategies.

Welcome to the site and sorry to hear you failed.

You need to reapply to BON for resit and pay the fee, you then register with pearsonvue and pay fees. You will receive another ATT as ATT can only be used the once.

Would also suggest you think about Suzanne's plan as many good sucess results with her plan, it is free and all information can be found in the sticky New Revised First Tip and to be followed exactly

thanks for the welcome and for the info. yeah, i'm trying to consider doing suzzane's plan, but i'm finding it hard to read through saunders again.:o the waiting time for retesting in NY state is 45 days right?

got my online unofficial results yesterday, and i failed. i got so depressed. i just did a self-study with the learningext.com review for 3weeks, and i'd like to say that the questions on the actual are really much different from those on books or reviewers. you really need to know the concepts. i guess i would have to do the test all over again. maybe i'll take it on january or february, if i can. i'm thinking of enrolling in kaplan, with the classroom review. i have the feuer cd's, i'll try to finish those, too. i realy hope i'd pass the second time around.

oh, btw, how do we apply for a retest? do we need to start from the beginning? and how long would it take for me to take the exam again? im applying for the NY state licensure.

i can relate to you coz when i took the exam last august, i only used the ncsbn for 3 weeks. i thought that it's all that i need. the ncsbn is somewhat similar to the NCLEX but the content is very important as well. i'll be taking again the exam this December. I suggest you use Saunders for the content coz it's really helpful & Kaplan as well. Don't give up okay. A lot of people here been through the same thing & they stick around this site for support & encouragement. i believe you'll do great the next time. prepare for it that's the key! Goodluck & Godbless to you!

thank you guys, for the encouragement. im currently trying to process the stuff i need so i can take the exam again. i dont feel like studying yet. but i guess i need to.

edit: just called NY BON, i guess i just have to pay pearson for the $200, call back to NY BON and ask to be made eligible, and i have 45 days to wait for the att. no need to reapply or resend form1 or pay for reapplication.

Hi all. I failed my RN boards in November. Never knew there was a "group" here for support. I have been a LPN for almost 12 years now and am trying to work my way up.

I am having a real hard time trying to study due to my chemo. I am wiped out. After caring for my kids, all I wanna do is crawl up into bed.

At my first try in November, I had a TON of SATA, priority, etc. A few math questions, but there was nothing on there that I could have studied for. It was very weird to me.

I am kinda lost now at what to do, how to restart. I still don't have my packet in the mail that breaks down your weakspots, so once I get that I will focus a bit more on those areas.

I am scheduled for Jan 17th @ 8am. What is everyone using here to study? Anyone here a multiple test taker or is everyone a first-time taker??

Even as I write this post I get nauseated!! Graduation is in 12 days and I plan on taking boards the very end of January (but of course no ATT yet so I haven't registered).

I'm opting not to take an official review and I think I'm the only one in my class of 66 who isn't! That makes me a little nervous but I have done very well in class and I plan to do a online question review. Though it wouldn't matter if I studied 10 hours a day (which of course I can't because I'm working 12 of the hours three days a week from now until the day of the exam) I still wouldn't feel prepared!

Good luck to all. Let's hear how everyone does!

I must be over doing myself. I got across basic drug calculation today and my mind just went blank. For the life of me I could not remember formulas and method that should have been inbeddin in my brain. aaahh.. I don't want that to happen to me again during test time. does anyone have a great tricks and trades they have been using. Thanks....

If you find times when you struggle to think when studying take a short break and put away the books. Over loading your brain will not work and stress you out even more. Relax and let your brain settle and things will start working again

Novemberfailure,

you may not have to reapply to your state BON. I am in michigan and I didn't. My application I originally submitted is good for 3 years. The day I got my unofficial results from PearsonVue, I repaid the 200 dollar fee, and within 3 days I had my new ATT emailed to me. Look on your NY state website and see if you must send in a new application, I bet you don't have to.

Hello January 08 Test Takers ----I'm soooo excited there's a support group! I graduated this weekend and am currently in a NCLEX-PN review course. It seems to be a pretty good course so far. The instructor says that the NCLEX should be taken within 2-3 weeks of completing any review course. I'm registered to start classes for RN in January so I'd like to have the NCLEX-PN out of the way before then, but if I feel I'm not ready then I'll wait a few more weeks. Good Luck to everyone and keep your head up to those whom have to retake the NCLEX. Let's get in control of this NCLEX and not let it take control of us!!!!
