I took the NCLEX on January 12th...I'm in CA and I've been checking the BRN website every day and as of this morning I'm not on there!! It stopped at 75, I got a lot of priority questions and at least 6 Select all that apply...I felt like I did horribly when I finished, but I was a straight A student in nursing school so everyone else is convinced that I passed...

Is it a horrible sign that I haven't heard anything yet??? I just started my new job and I'm scared to death that I didn't pass...

Ca can take a while and just because you can not see your name doesn't mean you failed. Many have posted on here that they received letter from Ca before they saw their name on the website. Many even said it took several days/weeks waiting

Hey guys,

I just took the nclex-rn today and boy am I discouraged. I answered 265 questions and am almost certain I failed. I am so down. Especially since many of my friends passed with 75 questions. I don't know what to do. I don't think I could take that test again. I don't have the money first and foremost, secondly...I am a mom that needs have some decent income. I don't know what to do. Four years of nursing school and I can even prove my competency level. Did any of you pass with 265 questions??:o:o:o

There are a few posts with passes on 265 and I know I was either 265 or very close when I passed. Good luck

Hello all! This is my first post ever...but I began visiting this site after I took my NCLEX-RN exam on Jan. 26. This website gave me hope and calmed my nerves during the gruesome 48 hour wait. I went in for my test at 8 am and at 8:35 after question 75 my computer screen went blue and I was walking out of the test center in shock. I felt like I had royally messed up my chance at passing the test because my nerves got the best of me and I rushed through my questions. I went to my car and cried while I waited for my friend to get finished. In my mind I was preparing for what I was going to do different the next time. I was an honor student during school and always did my best to prepare for tests and think through my questions, so what had I just done. By the grace of God, 48 hours later I found out I PASSED! The reason for this long winded post is this: When you go in to test, don't let the test defeat you. Be calm, cool and collected. Know that you are ready and that you know the information. Just always think airway, breathing, circulation first. Be prepared to walk out feeling like you didn't know anything...it will be okay, because you actually knew more than you realized. Good luck to everyone and I will be praying for all the test takers....prayers got me through my test!

Two of my classmates passed with 265 and another at 211. Anything is possible, keep your spirits up!

UGH!!!! I totally understand!! I took it a year ago in Feb after much fustration with my application and was finally able to take the exam, EVERYONE was up my bum to take it NOW, pass it, earn more$$$...not just my family, but my employer. Needless to say, I took the 1st available, stressed out, failed(I rocked on my LPN exam), and beyond bummed. A month later, I got injured on the job...guess what, I got fired after the bosses wife found out it was an on the job injury, which is actually illegal on their part. So nursejeni, is no longer...I'm now the patient, injured, a bit annoyed, and yet inspired to hit those books. I can definatelt say I am not the same person from a year ago. I was motivated, passionate and full of ambition, but with the nursing commission going in circles on my application, then finally taking it when I shouldn't have...then, then then...

The old me would say, take some time off, reflect, enjoy your family and prioritize. When you feel the time is right, start studying, which is what I SHOULD do!!!

I'll be popping in and out. Hope all is well and hope to see more of us as RN's in 2008!!!!

cheers and blessings

Look at the sticky 2008 Version of Suzanne's plan, it is free and can be used for both PN and RN. All you need is the latest version of Saunders

I would advise Mary Anne Hogan's review vs Saunders because the book is structured to that of Nclex and the questions are all at the application and analysis level as is the test. Saunders is decent for content but frankly their questions are not.. Mary Anne Hogan was a writer for Nclex and also contributed a few questions (900) to be exact to Saunders...her review is amazing! I was doing suzanne's plan but frankly with this book it is not needed. Also while doing suzzanne's plan I found the questions rather easy. I went from Kaplan to saunders questions and anyone who has done Kaplan will tell the level of difficulty of their questions are quite challenging so that explains why saunders questions to me are quite easy. So, you will recieve your report in the mail and it will reveal to you weak areas. If you failed any section...for example physiological integrity you can target those areas specificly...using this book because it is structred that way unlike saunders or any other. I responded to a stick on Mary Anne Hogan review book.. check it out it gives further detail. Most people are not aware of this book because its fairly new. In the past people would use all nine of her books to prepare for Nxclex. She finally developed her own nclex review. Seriously, the content and the set up of the book are amazing! All and I mean all the questions in her book are at the app and analysis level of difficulty. I took Kaplan in the fall and I can honestly say that the questions were as difficult and challenging as Dr Hogan's book...I am curious as to weather or not she may have written some of them too because I have ran into some of the same questions I had during my Kaplan review. Anyway, I know many who used saunders and failed...or many who used saunders but passed at 265 or less...and few who passed at 75. Why is that...I honestly think it because we are not challenging ourselves enough with application and analysis questions....as are offered by Kaplan and Dr Hogan's review. Once you've got the content down your next step is to challenge your critical thinking skills. Again...Saunder's questions don't offer enough of it...trust me!!! Everyone I know used this book and passed at 75! That says it all. Trust me on this one. You need to challenge yourself with questions at the Nclex level! I really wished I knew about this book during my Kaplan review because the set up is the same but it offered some serious content which Kaplan lacks. Best of luck!
