Help!! NClex RN common Lab value of neutrophils and lymphocytes

  1. Hi All,
    I keep getting the lab value for neutrophils in percentage, can someone help me with the normal range of lab value that is not in%. Cuz most practice questions give you values not in %. Thanks...

    You are prob seeing the percentage of WBC that are neutrophils. If you want a hard #, multiply that % by the total number of WBC, and you'll have an absolute neutrophil count. Here's a good, quick CNE on the CBC: CBC 101 | CE279-60 > Continuing Education Unit at

    I know what you're talking about. Kaplan will ask you about neutrophils in absolute (though they're guide doesn't give you that number). To calculate the range, think of Neutrophil percentage and absolute WBC range. Multiply neutrophil's lowest normal percentage by WBC lowest normal percentage and you'll have the Neutrophil lower limit (0.55*4,600), and again for the upper limit (0.75*11,000). There you go.
