I finally got my results of my NCLEX-RN... I failed at 265.... Now i have no idea what to do... I need something that is interactive in order for me to study.... Just reading a book isnt going to help.... Didnt help in nursing school either.... Do you know of anyone that has an interactive study/review??? Im not devastated... Im just floored.... I tried Saunders for a while... Everything just became overwhelming.... I think a lot of my problems on the NCLEX were the strategies for dissecting the question..... If anyone can give me some advise I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Shawn

sorry that you failed shawn. l know how you are feeling. l am a foreign graduate. failed nclex rn at 204 on the 2nd of sept. 2008. passed on the 15th of jan 2009 at 75 questions. what you have to do is get this book called prioritization, delegation and assignment by linda. a lacharity. enrolled in kaplan. kaplan saved my life. it is expensive but you will reap the fruit of your labour. reading only can not help you with nclex. you need to know the passing strategies. that is what l learnt. in exam you would not remember everything you have read. but strategies learnt will save your life. i got 10 medications, l didn't know all but l used the strategies i have learnt to pick the right answers.

get the big fat testbook by brunner et al. the book is called test book of medical-surgical nursing. go to e-bay. it is cheaper. it comes with cd. and i swear nclex pick questions from this testbook. if you have more money to spear. use the ncsbn website - only 49 dollars. for popular drugs go to

Consider trying Suzanne's plan. You can read about it in the stickies at the top of this forum. Make sure you give yourself enough time to prepare properly and study as if this will be your first time to take the test. Don't gloss over anything. Good luck.

Attend a live review class if you can - they give you a lot of strategies as to HOW to answer the questions, rather than the content. I found it very helpful as a foreign-educated nurse and passed my first attempt.

Sorry to hear that. Believe me I feel your pain. I'm gonna try Suzanne's plan for my retake and pray I pass. From the posts I have read, it seems to work so it's worth a try. I just found out a few days ago that I failed too. I am still grieving, but I know that I have to get some strength and start back studying again. Good luck to you and please keep me posted. Hang in there

Read the 2 stickies on the main NCLEX forum page on her plan, it gives you all the information you need regarding doing her first tip before you send her a pm, that has to be completed first. We do not allow posting just to boost post count and posts will/are deleted if we think that is the case. We also ask that the posts are meaningful and useful to the forum

I failed my first time too. It made me feel so stupid, and I have never felt that way before. I guess I'm going to try Suzanne's Plan everyone is talking about. Good luck to both of us our next time around!

I know some really smart and wonderful RNs who did not pass their first time and a couple who failed more than once. NCLEX is such a tough exam to predict. Just have to keep trying. We all know you can do it; you graduated from nursing school which is quite an accomplishment in itself. Glad to hear you are going to try Suzanne's Plan. Good luck.:redpinkhe
