Does the KPLAN Decision tree work?

How helpful is the KPLAN decision tree on answering questions on the NCLEX? Did it really work for most questions?

Based on my experience, i stop at 75 and thanks to kaplan decision tree because it works for me.At first, i'm thinking that nclex exam is so hard,but i'm wrong, i guess the kaplan question trainer is much more harder.

I passed at 75 also, and to me kaplan decision tree helped a lot.

I used that decision tree in every single question (eventhough I had heard from many people that it doesn't apply), except the 3 math, and the 4 SATA questions.

there was one question where one of the answers was "stuffy nose".... and to me that is airway airway airway..... so that is what I picked

yes the decision tree works, but it's something that you already know. You know ABC, you know physical before psychological..........

to me, kaplan really helps practice the skills for you to pass the test.

As far as kaplan being harder than nclex........ I would say NOT. To me nclex was a lot harder.

I think it depends on the test taker. There was some trouble with this in my nursing class because some of us are very intuitive thinkers and do well on these tests without needing a decision tree. For those people trying to force yourself through a "process" is frustrating and time consuming.

Now that being said I didn't use the decision tree for EVERY question but if I could narrow down a question to two answers and I was stuck, the decision tree WAS pretty helpful in choosing a final answer.

What is the Kaplan decision tree? I am looking at my Kaplan book but I can not find anything about it Could someone tell me what is it? Thanks in advance :)

i havent taken boards yet, but i am taking kaplan. the decision tree is helpful with questions that meet all the criteria. some questions dont. i dont like it, because i never used strategies to answer exams and i have done well so far. i think the whole process is time consuming and adds stress trying to remember the steps. i think its easier to just ask yourself why each answer is listed and whats the outcome. thats the only part of the tree i use.

I like the Kaplan Decision Tree. It only works for some questions though (as some have said previously). I am still trying to break my old habits and use the Decision Tree to answer the questions. So far when I have used the Tree, I have chosen the correct answer.
