265 Questions! I am freaking out! HELP!!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took the NCLEX-RN today 7/05/06 and I am losing my mind. I got all 265 questions, and I know it's not supposed to be indicative of whether you passed or not but I feel horrible. 6 of us went in to take the exam and only 2 of us were still there with 265 questions!!! It was SO HARD, I mean the hardest exam ever. I do not think anthing could have prepared me for it. I did the practice tests/course on NCSBN and did a review course at my work that was 5 days long, I am soooo stressed!!!!! I heard something from like 5 people who took Kaplan that if you get all 265 that the last one counts for the whole test. Meaning if u get the last one wrong u fail, if u get it right u pass??!! Virginia does not do the quick results so i am freaking out!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!

You did your best so it's time to patiently wait ( easy to say but it does sound impossible in my case, been waiting for 2 weeks now). Some people did pass at 265, and no, answering the last question right or wrong does not indicate passing or failing the exam. It's only a rumor.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it! Let me know how you do and I will do the same!

Waiting!!!

Hey,

I'm taking my NCLEX-RN on AUG 7th and my state also don't have quick response so I feel your pain already. I keep telling myself that the best thing to do is try to forget about it and think positive; but I'll see if that'll work for me after I take my exam. I'm also an Army wife and we are stationed in Germany. Stay positive and keep us updated on your results :-)

When I took the Kaplan review course, the instructor told us that if you got 265 questions then the last one was the clincher as to pass or fail.

I, too, just got the dreaded 265 questions. I was the LAST one in the room..such a horrible feeling. I would love to hear from more of you that PASSED with 265 questions. It seems like more fail than pass with 265? Is that true. I live in IL, so I will know Saturday. I know you're not allowed to take anything in, but I stuffed my ROSARY in my BRA. Hope it helps!!! :banghead:

Hi there! I took my test last wed and also got 265 questions. I have been freaking out ever since. I have been checking to see if my name is up yet on the BRN but its not :(! I wish you the best of luck and know that there are others like me in the same boat with you! Be positive.

You probably did great. Just wait patiently and hopefully you will get the news soon. Good luck to you.

Relax.

They have to standardize the test with some people, a certain percentage of people get the full 265 even if they were at passing level. don't let Kaplan scare you, no one really knows the algorithim used, that is pearson vue's secret, but jsut remember, passing a test is not indicative of the kind of nurse you will be. I know right now it's no consolation, but even if *God forbid* you didn't pass, you can retake the test. I know several nurses who did not pass the first time and are some of the best nurses I know. don't let it shake your confidence... Do something nice for yourself, and relax.

:balloons: Hey guys great news - I PASSED! Thanks for all your support and kind words, I am proof that I took all 265 and passed. No doubt I felt like a failure when I left there, a lot of people do, it's a hard test, rightfully so we have people's lives in our hands and they want to make sure we are SAFE and COMPETENT! Thanks again and to the ones who have not taken it yet, hang in there, study hard and focus. Remember your ABC's. Keep them safe, keep them breathing. You will do just fine. You made it through nursing school and I am sure there were times you felt like you weren't - u can do this, u know this stuff, mind over matter.

:balloons: :w00t: Congratulations Stephanie!! Thanks for posting that fact that you did pass with 265 questions.
