Nursing Students NCLEX

Hey guys, so I have 2 weeks until I take this big heart pounding hand shaking nail biting test. I have been reviewing the study guide linked here and Saunders and ATI and my school offered a Sylvia Rayfield prep class which they have a 98% pass rating... I complete anywhere from 90-200 questions a day. I'm really nervous and not sure i am prepared enough... Please respond with any advise encouragement support... Anything that will help to decrease the nerves and increase the confidence!!!! Thanks

My advice is to relax now. You're not going to learn anything new. Take your mind off of it. The hardest part is over: the college education itself. I personally think 200 questions a day is overkill but to each, his own. Go into the test feeling relaxed. Don't waste too much time on the questions that you KNOW you have no clue about. Envision yourself walking out as an RN or LPN, depending on which board you're sitting for. The NCLEX is not as threatening as most people make it out to be. Keep in mind that some students are randomly selected to take the entire exam. So don't panic if your computer keeps going after 75 or 85 questions....it means nothing. Good luck to you. By the way, I chose not to disclose my exam date just in case I failed. That went a long way in relieving any stress that I may have had. What I did do was tell my family to stay away because I was testing soon and needed no distractions. They all agreed....right before each one of them showed up on my doorstep the day before my exam! It prevented me from doing any last minute cramming but more importantly, it took my mind off the NCLEX. I went in the next morning and exactly one hour later, out walked an RN! You've studied, you graduated, you got this!

Thank you so much! It is hard not to panic but I am taking it day by day my motto is just breathe lol I have heard a million different stories about how it's hard how it's easy how you need to know this and that lol.... Are you familiar with ATI? If so the comprehensive exam said I had a 94% chance of passing first try! I also have a friend who said she thought that NCLEX was easier than ati any opinion on that?

I am also 2 weeks away, I'm doing questions on an ATI app I bought plus some from the books, not going crazy tho. I recommend Hesi comprehensive review for NCLEX, it helped me pass my exit hesi and has strategies on how to answer. I am not nervous....yet. DO NOT doubt yourself. Tell yourself you will pass. Staying positive will help. All through nursing school for every exam, I told myself I will pass and I did.

Please dont stress yourself out over the test. I see ppl on here doing major over kill studying, it isnt necessary. You just finished school, which means you've been studying for the Nclex for the last yr to yr in a half with all the test you have taken and not to mention the ATI you have to pass after each nursing coorifice.

I took the comprehensive ATI with a 95% chance of passing. I passed the Nclex-RN with 95Q's and barley did any studying. You will be fine:yes:

Thank you so much :) that boosted my faith! If you don't mind me asking do you feel the ATI is more complex or about the same?

Honestly, I dont feel like the ATI is like the Nclex but I will tell you that my PDA by Lacharity book was very helpful. The questions in the PDA book are very hard compared to nclex but im telling the SATA questions and who would you see 1st questions in that booked helped me alot for the nclex.

I did 200 questions a day. It was very time consuming but worth it.

Keep in mind that some students are randomly selected to take the entire exam. So don't panic if your computer keeps going after 75 or 85 questions....it means nothing.

This is a myth. Its a computer adaptive test. The computer shuts off when it has decided that you have the minimum knowledge to be a safe/effective nurse. It starts you off with a medium level question that is above the passing line. Your goal is to stay above that line. If it keeps going after 75 it just means you're close to the passing line but not enough for the computer to say you passed. It'll keep asking you questions until it has decided if you did enough to pass or not. It's all about how you're answering the questions, it's not a randomized set number of questions for each person. It's all based on performance.

Any other suggestions :)

Your still wigging out. You will do this just trust yourself and don't change your 1st response on the questions.
