Hi i am a newly registered nurse in the philippines. I am waiting for my us visa and i wanted to take the california nclex. My problem is some of applicants before submitted 3 or cases and got declined they needed 5 cases. I researched about it and i read that it's not about the no. Of cases but about the clinical cases being conccurent with the theory. My cases are concurrent because we have a new curriculum but i only have 3 OR and DR cases. Would i also be declined for eligibility?

If your clinical experiences and theory subjects were done concurrently and you otherwise meet all requirements for licensing in California you can be licensed or have a US license endorsed for practice in California. The California BRN has been very clear about this from approximately 2003 onward. The writing was on the wall for greater/enhanced enforcement of the rules when Excelsior College's RN program was no longer considered adequate and that was for the very same reason that grads from the Philippines have trouble now... clinical-theory concurrency.
I do think that it is concurrent since we are being taught maternal and child care at the samr time, we are also rotated at the Delivery room. Same goes for my surgical cases. I hope i pass eligibility. Thank you :)

You should be fine as long as NONE of the cases were dated 1-2 weeks or 1-2 months or 1-2 years of the same time period of those courses you took. If one set of dates, do not match up properly, then you will not meet the concurrency rules. There have been many whose transcripts was off by 1-2 weeks and made not eligible for the CA ATT.
There were all required to re-take any of the deficient courses.
If you were still a PH citzen prior to the graduation date and year, then give the CA BRN a copy or proof of your PH nursing license (it's a requirement).
If however, you're a dual citizen or US citizen, you may be exempted with a letter of explanation. Currently, the CA BRN is accepting those letter with copies of your US passport and all supporting pages.
