NCC Spring 2021 NASSAU COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone, I am a Liberal Arts student at NCC right now and interested in "Change of Program" to Nursing for Spring 2021. I have almost all the Pre-reqs done with 3.7 GPA. Only thing I worry about at this moment is the TEAS Exam. I did not take the TEAS yet and due to the COVID-19, there's no any test date available in my area. Do you guys know if they would consider my application without the TEAS? Please let me know if you know anything about this situation. Thank you

90-100 is 15 points

I got in Math 81, how many points is that

Reading 72, science 66 and English language usage 66.  How many points in total would I get?

58.7-79=5 points

80-89=10 points

90-100=15 points

I heard that NCC only care about the math and reading portions of the TEAS is that true?

All sections count. Science wasn’t counted in the past but it is now.

Specializes in nursing student.

Hello everyone,

congrats to all those who got accepted into the program and to those who have yet to get accepted please don't lose hope! This message is for those who got accepted hopefully it's not too late. I'm currently in Nur-105 in the day section and I just found out the most incredible news that I would like to share.   so upon your acceptance into the joint nursing program with Nassau and empire, your first class is a history course. Some people choose to take the history course, aging and society course, and the HUDV course altogether, and others rather space it out. But I have good news for those who already have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the 50 states of America. so if you have a bachelors degree,  you can submit your official transcript to SUNY empire and email the nursing office there saying "Hello my name is ____ and I already have a bachelors degree and I was wondering if I can get a credit evaluation for the Nassau & empire joint nursing program specifically the 3 gen ED courses. They will email you after they evaluate the transcript and let you know that you are (possibly )exempt from the courses (crosses fingers) and you forward that email to your nassau's nursing program & the professor at Nassau who did your advisement. you're saving money and time. I have a psych degree from Hunter College and a friend has a biology degree from a SUNY school and another has a biology degree from out of state school and unfortunately, we learned about it too late and we only got the last class exempt so that's why I'm on here to share the news. I did my good deed for the year. good luck with everything. you'll do great!

Hey all anyone applying for the Fall 2021 NCC there is a new group. Here is the link

Hi JGVargas

how is it going in the nursing program? Can you give us a little feedback on what we should be expecting?

Super late reply! It is fast paced and you should keep up with your readings and consistently review your lecture notes and skills. Putting things off while taking other classes with NUR 101 will bite you in the butt. It's easy for work to pile up. Thinking like a nurse is a whole new world. We just started clinical and have plenty of work to prep for clinical and hw and concept maps that are due later in the week. The concept maps are A LOT.

You'll learn about them in NUR 101. Nothing to worry about right now

Hello everyone,

I have a question I’m currently a student in Ncc I will take developmental courses in the fall.

I want to apply to nursing in Spring 2022, but I will not have the results of my developmental course until December, so can I apply for the Spring and give my grades when they coming up later.

Hi! So you can apply but those grades will not count towards your application. They don’t accept pending grades — only grades that have already posted.
