My packet was submitted back in April and I have still not heard anything..last month my recruiter mentioned something about the flooding in Tennessee which is where their navy nurse board meets and how that delayed their reviewing the packets....I've emailed her a few times and she keeps telling me to be patient....has anyone else heard this? I would think that if this was the case, they would review the packets that were received first....I would hope that if my packet were rejected she would tell me and not keep me waiting for 2 months....

It happens. I'm Air Force, but I submitted my package last February and didn't get selected until June (of 2009). It's how the military operates.
Your recruiter will tell you the outcome as soon as she hears it. She's right - you will have to be patient.

I submitted my packet for October AF boards and didn't hear until December. As soon as my recruiter knew he called me and let me tell you I flew out of my classroom so fast when I saw him calling me. Keep your hopes up!

I spoke with a Navy Recruiter today . Just waiting for a return call has taken three weeks. I have 6 years prior service and 9 years as an RN so I thought that I would at least have a chance getting back in. I have a honorable discharge, BSN, 3.9 GPA, working on my Masters and really want to get back in to serve my country.
Today he told me that the Navy is being very picky right now and that I should send in a resume first before filling out the application. He said that they only want "experienced critical care" nurses right now. He wasn't sure if my prior critical care experience was recent enough or if the Navy even considered Emergency nursing as a specialty.
I am going to send my resume to him so he can send it up to see if they are interested. He told me it could be another 3 weeks as his supervisor is on leave right now.
Maybe my expectations are too high. When I enlisted I left 10 days after talking to the recruiter, LOL.

Thanks for the replies!!! It's just that I start feeling down when I don't hear anything.....She told me that I got great reviews for my interviews and everything looked great...I will keep trying to be patient!!!1
I'm prior enlisted as well - I was DEP for a whopping two weeks so I know how you feel! My commission package from start to the first day of COT took over a year.
The Air Force and the Army both consider ED a specialty if the Navy does not.

if this is regarding the navy nurse candidate program I am in the same boat as you. My recruiter sent in my package early June and I still haven't heard anything either on my status. He also told me about a flooding in Tennessee as well.
