Hi everyone!! I am applying to National University in San Diego for their BS Nursing program. They require a personal statement as part of the nursing application. Can anyone give me some ideas on things I may include in this letter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you and good luck to all of you in your nursing careers!!

Hi.. sorry i dont have an answer to your question, but noticed you're going through the process and was wonderin... I heard National is accepting apps for July 07.. Is that true? And what made you decide in joining National?
Yes, I believe they are accepting applicants for July 07. That is actually when I am trying to get in. I decided to go to National because the waitlist is so long at the community colleges and I can actually start the nursing program almost a year before I can even apply to SDSU. It is going to cost quite a bit more, but I would like to get my degree in the most expeditious manner possible. National only requires that you have your prereqs done prior to starting the nursing classes. And, the program is 22 months long for BSN. SDSU is a 6 semester program and only consists of Spring and Fall semesters. So, instead of taking 4 more years, I am looking at maybe 3 years if not less. If you have any more specific questions regarding their program at National, I would recommend calling them and talking to a nursing advisor.
Hope this helps.
Yea, I agree with you. I hate waiting and these wait lists are ridiculous. I did visit an advisor back june, at the spectrum campus, and thought i could finish a couple of classes before jan 07... but now i hear all seats are taken for jan and apr of 07!
I also remember my advisor saying that its all about the personal statement. If its top notch, you're a sure in.
Thanks and Good Luck!!
Awesome!! I am working on my personal statement now! I am confident that I will be able to "woo" them with it. Good luck!!

For my personal statement for National I mentioned some experience I had in the healthcare field and why I wanted to be nurse. I hope this helps. Good luck :nuke:
