National University Cohort 63

Published

Hi all! I wanted to create a thread for Cohort 63 for application period Feb 2020. I’ve been a national student for almost 4 years. I’m taking my teas in December to hopefully score above 90 to be competitive. My GPA sits at a 3.5

I wonder if they have it set to a timer at 5 pm or something ? ugh I can't take this anymore. If they don't post it, someone needs to email.

in cohort 61, they updated our status at 5:24 pm, although they had a technical error, so it could be that late

edit: the technical error meant they had to wait until the next day to resolve it, but they planned it to be updated that late at 5:24 initially

I’m applying in August and I’ve been anxiously following this threading waiting for you guys to get accepted! Please post your GPA and TEAS scores when you get your results!! Trying to see if I stand a chance in August

LOL you guys are making me loose MY mind. Every time I see a notification from this thread, I think it’s going to be an “I got accepted” notification ? this isn’t helping my anxiety ?

I have not! I just finished A&P 1 and I’m taking A&P 2 and micro and will finish end of July beginning of August and I’m going to be cutting it close taking the test probably a week before the deadline

the general ball park to be competitive is 3.4+ GPA and like 82-86+ TEAS, but dont let the interview fool you either, I didn't do as well as I thought I did in my first interview and got denied

Ah thank you! This is super helpful. I’m hoping I’ll be in the 3.5-3.7 range. Shooting for A’s these next classes but they are hard so we will see! They take only bio stats, information literacy, and the 3 sciences correct? I have 2 years of cna experience 1 in a nursing home and 1+ in a hospital (still currently work as a cna in the hospital). Really hoping that will help me out

The CNA experience will help out in the interview portion.

thats really good then, the first thing they asked me is do I have any CNA experience after they saw I volunteer, so you should be fine in the interview.

I had to retake A&P (both classes with B’s and bring them up to A’s) I have a 3.3 GPA and I was told by my advisor to either retake micro or score above 90 on the TEAS to be competitive. We shall see. I know the TEAS testing is shut down for the foreseeable future though so I’m waiting to see what happens with that.

I highly recommend taking the TEAS at SDSU testing center when they reopen, cheaper and much more ideal seating.

I asked a girl who got into the previous cohort and she said just talking to a few people that 3.4 GPA and 84 TEAS was about the average that got in, just to give you some more information
