I'm very new to the Health Field, so I was wondering what are some of the brands that are favored by individuals in this forum??? What's expensive, what's cheap, and which brand would you consider having good material quality? I'm mainly looking into scrubs and shoes... Any input would be appreciated.

As far as scrubs go, I wear Dickie's, Cherokee, and WonderWink's WonderFlex line. I love them all and they all seem to wear well.
I consider shoes to be an investment when you're on your feet all day. They're not cheap but I am a huge fan of Dansko's. They made a huge difference for me in terms of how my feet/legs/back felt after a shift.
Good luck finding what works best for you!

I have bought cherokee scrubs and washed them so many times in the past couple of years and they still stay true to size and color, after two years my dark blue one seems to start ending its life soon, but overall you can wear the same scrubs all the time it doesn't matter. by the shoes most comfortable that will last you awhile because you can burn out through a pair of nikes in a heartbeat

Butter soft scrubs are really comfortable and they're cheap too.

Greys anatomy scrubs.. the waist is high enough, so that when you bend over, your butt doesn't stick out. They are nice and soft, and the color doesn't fade. Also Koi scrubs, they have a really nice fit and are super comfortable. Both of these also come in tall, which is important for me.

I wear several brands in scrub shirts; it depends on the fit as to what I buy but I try to stick strictly to Dickies and Cherokee. I wear only Dickies scrub pants; I found a fit and style that works well for me at a great price and they come in my size and length (plus size and short). I have about 7 pairs of the same style pants in 7 different colors and I'm going on 2 years of wearing them now without a sign of fading or wear.

Heart soul and greys anatomy are my faves when it comes to scrubs. I am plus size so these I like because they are more flattering and residents always complement me because they are cute. They are pricey though.
I really do appreciate the feedback, so THANKS!!!! At the time prior to posting this thread, the only place I could think of purchasing scrubs were at Wal-Mart. But I was concerned about the quality (fading issues after several washes/wear and tear/ect). However, after reading some of the comments, I looked up some of the brands online and the price is reasonable (cheaper than buying military uniforms for sure).
I'm also assuming that it all depends on where you work at that determines which color scrubs you are to wear while on duty. I thought about buying several different color (work environment friendly, nothing too extreme), but I will put a hold on that. As for now, I just need to get a set of Navy Blue Scrubs for the clinical portion of the CNA course once I get to that part.
Anyways, thanks and about to check out some more scrubs online right now ;0)......
You're right about where you work determining what you wear. I've been fortunate enough to work in places that do not designate what color you have to wear. That being said, I have a personal rule about what I wear. I wear prints but not anything wild or outlandish. I don't wear cartoon character scrubs because 1. It makes me feel ridiculous and 2. Most of the people I care for are adults. If I worked in a pediatric unit, I probably would wear scrubs with cartoon characters.
After the suggestions, KOI, Cherokee, and Grey's Anatomy for Men have definately caught my attention. I really like the Grey's Anatomy and though they are a little pricey, these scrubs have a good/clean/and sharp look to them.
I guess the only issue I have now are my tattoos (both forearms and almost sleeved). However, I did notice that some individuals in the Medical Field wear long sleeves under their scrubs................
My personal rules are practically the same. I prefer to wear what is appropiate for the work setting......
My previous employer allowed us to wear t-shirts with the facility logo on them and we were allowed to wear jeans on Friday. I never really felt professional there. It was nice but it is almost impossible to do your job when you're wearing $90 jeans like some of the girls did. I don't think they considered the potential for code browns projectile vomit.
