NA 2 Class or Phlebotomy Class?

Posted

I am a currently a CNA 1 working in a hospital and I am almost finished with my nursing school prerequisites. Since the last class I need b4 applying to the schools nursing program wasn't being offered this semester I want to do a continuing education class. I was thinking either an NA 2 class or phlebotomy? Most of the nurses I work with recommended the phlebotomy since its not covered in a lot of programs. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Specializes in none.

I would go with NA2. Because you are already working in a hospital job, you will be able to do more nursing responsibilities than with just drawing blood. Plus, most hospitals have separate phlebotomists from CNAs.
