A have a funny story at work and want to share...
There is this one male patient who is around 65 years old that I know for four months. I take care different group of patients everyday and sometimes I have him as my patient on my assignment. He's one of my nice, happy, and funny patient. I think he like me because before he asked if I'm married and how old am I. I said I'm single and 25. When he look at me he would give me a blink and a smile. He always said "you are beautiful" to me which make a feel very shy. He once said this to me when my crush is around which make me so shy and walk away. But I'm happpy to hear someone praise me like that too. So last night as I was sitting near the nurses station this patient asked me if I'm off tomorrow. I said yes and he said he's off tomorrow too. He said he want to go see this new movie and ask me to go with him too and said he'll pay for it. He keep asking for my number which make me feel so shy because the other two cna are sitting near by but they're busy talking and the other two nurses are busy doing something at the nurses station. This patient make me feel very shy because he ask me these things when people are around I just hope they didn't hear our conversation last night. So he keep asking for my number and said he'll call and talk to me. I just smile and refused to give my number. When this patient ask me to go to the movie with him and ask for my number this really make me feel shy because I never go out with a guy before so this incident make me shy and also crack me up too,LOL. But after all he's my good patient and I just treat him as my uncle only :-)

That'd a sweet thing for him to do! Ha ha!
You do need to report this to your charge nurse, though. This is one of the things they need to document. We had a man with an infatuation with one of our CNAs. He was writing her love letters and buying her gifts. We all thought it was cute because he can't do a thing for himself and can barely talk. He would light up when he saw her. If your admirer is in better shape than this guy, you need to keep the relationship on a professional level. It could get out of hand. Don't do anything to lead him on. You need to protect your certification. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have someone with you when giving him care.
Just be careful. :)
