My NCLEX Experience.......

Hi All,

Well today was test day for me, my appointment time was 2pm, but as a multi-test taker, I decided to do everything differently this time. I decided to let the spirit move me......this is my NCLEX story........

I initially made my appointment for July 9th, however, anxiety became too much and my spirit moved me to change my date for July 2. I made my appointment for 2pm, just in case I was not able to sleep, which I was not. I used Hurst advice, and I reviewed until the last possible moment, so when I awoke at 1am, I played Hurst video of Orthopedic and Respiratory, just listening as I lay in bed. Back to sleep, awoke at 6am listened to Oncology and Psychiatric Nursing. Then I answered approximately 80 Saunders questions, now it decides to give me questions it had never given me before...... but I read the rationales and kept it moving. Back to sleep at 8am until after 9am, practiced a few math problems, made sure I knew the formulas. Finally, I decided to watch Fashion Police as I was in need of a good laugh.

The time was fast approaching, the center is only 15mins away, but off I went at 12pm, stopped at the bank, then proceeded to center. I drove all the way there praying and in tears, I cant explain it as I am not usually that emotional.....I arrived at 12:45pm and was advised that a computer was free, and I could start. I sat down said a prayer and I begun the test. The last 6 months of revising all came down to this moment......

I kept check, so I could share information with my fellow nurses to be, I had 9 medications, of which 2 I absolutely did not know, 9 SATA, 1 drop in order (clean catch specimen easy:)), 2 pictures, multiple P/D/A, Infection Control, Obstetrics, Child Health and Psych . In fact, I would say I had a little of everything, however I did not have any math problems.

My computer finally shut off at 75 questions, and I left knowing I passed. I got the "GOOD POP UP" 45mins after my test. But what I really wanted to share was, the 80 questions I answered this morning that I did not know much about, I probably got 45 of them on my test today, God is truly good. I know my method was unconventional, but I wanted to ensure I did not waste a moment.

The materials I used this time around, were, Hurst Review Online, I dont think I could have passed if it was not for Hurst, her explanation pulled everything into perspective. I took Kaplan before, and I didnt find it beneficial. Saunders Comprehensive, LaCharity P/D/A and Rayfield's Nursing Made Insanely Easy, as well as the helpful hints from AllNurses.com.

I am still in a state of disbelief, I can not wait to see my name on the BON.........God is truly Good.

All the best to those that are still on the journey, it is possible..........
